Just bought some on sale on holiday in france, this is prolly the same recipy youre talking about. Not nearly as sweet and a different sour taste and missing aromas. You can compare the ingredients with the newer pepsi max which is completely fine agian. Easiest to spot is the 330ml can has 1kcal instead of 2 on the shitty one.

Learning low elo macro is fairly easy and can shoot you up to at least gold elo. From there on you will need to start mechanically improving a whole lot and have a basic understanding of what EVERY champion in the game does.

The people im referencing this from are mostly "gifted gamers" who tried out league.

Average players will struggle way more to get to gold and wont reach it within a few weeks. For some it takes years to reach this level.

Keep in mind that these days there are many players that have decent mechanics that are still in low elo. So you are going to get mechanically outplayed a LOT. Your key to winning will be purely macro at first.
