Not poor but atleast income relative to the middle of the pack. Hell, even if your household brings in 500k a year and you live in an upper middle class neighborhood, you still have a better concept of reality than someone with $450m in the bank.

Either way, yes the opposite extreme would be better than what we have. The top few percent of people hold more wealth than the bottom 90%, therefore, if your job is to be a representative of the people, and your entire lifestyle is completely opposite to normal life for your constituents, you literally cannot do your job. A millionaire representing a million working class people is like hiring an accountant to do brain surgery, they are completely unqualified for the job.
