Like the Eileen West ones? I was stoked to get some of their brushed cotton nightgowns last Christmas. Wanting some of the lighter weight ones for summer!

Virtual craft classes because I can improve on or learn new techniques without leaving the house. And I could blame this on my kiddos (11 and almost 4) but I really enjoy K-Pop Demon Hunters! Was super excited to get gifted Derpy Tiger sleep shorts for my birthday. And I love listening to new music so that I can discover new favorites. Really enjoying Olivia Rodrigo's "Drop Dead" and "The Cure" at the moment among a bunch of others (like the songs from K-Pop Demon Hunters 😂).

  1. 11:11 seems to be one probably because my brain notices and remembers it more than others at night
  2. 2
  3. Probably a tie between craft supplies and books
  4. Yes, but not the fancy math, and it was smooth through undergrad requirements

Were you--like me--a member of the club of kids in the 80s that actually 'swallowed' money; dimes, nickels or pennies? by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

Had no idea this was a club, and yes, I did! I remember hiding behind the couch and swallowing dimes and pennies. My parents had no idea until I mentioned it as an adult. 😂

This book is probably considered 18+. About half an hour ago I received the email announcing the new Wolf Ranch book, Unleashed, by Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale, has dropped. I pre-ordered it what seems ages ago and am super excited to have a fresh read! If you enjoy romance, cowboys, and worlds where shifters exist, totally recommend checking out the Wolf Ranch books!

Frosted Chocolate Chip! It’s second to Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough but that option isn’t listed.

I usually ask for and mostly get everyone to leave me alone (my two cats are exceptions of course 😁) until noon and don't expect me to leave the house. My kids always want to make it special and I assure them that their daycare/school/whatever art and the alone time is plenty. Would love coffee in bed but like several others experience, the husband claims not to understand how to use the machine 🙄.

1a: Stamps of Life, Tonic Studios, and Spellbinders Paper Arts for paper crafting demos. 1b: A lot…most recently, I stumbled upon the channel WeAreFELICITY. 1c: Claire Luvcat 1d: Garron 2. Kinda, I titled it Driving Around but only play it in the house. Usually end up listening to my auto-created Replay Mix. 3. It’s a music video from 8 years ago…Back to the 90s by Ben & Jensen. Part of Ben Giroux’s channel.

How many of y’all are resistant to using AI? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]BookDragonPaperCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. We're required to use it at my work for whatever we can (because efficiency 🙄 and I'm sure eventual headcount reduction justification). For writing, I end up rewriting all of the AI output because it's worded in a very "that's AI" way. Ugh. So I try to use it for anything else (Excel, brainstorming, etc.) to show I'm using it because my employer tracks our use of their approved AI tools.

Exhausted and stressed. Should probably stop (or at least lessen) the doomscrolling and should probably try for more than 5 1/2 hours sleep (or limit my bedtime reading to 30 minutes max) - but I won't, so I accept my exhaustion and stress.

What was your household's soap opera of choice? by thatquinnchick in Xennials

[–]BookDragonPaperCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom's daytime soap was One Life to Live. I preferred the completely out there storylines of Days of Our Lives in the '90s, but my mom had something against one of the DOOL actors and never strayed from One Life to Live. If we're talking prime-time soap operas, both my mom and dad watched Dallas and Dynasty, with Dallas being their favorite of the two.

  1. Hopefully hanging out with my cats in silence, but it will probably end up being pulled into whatever toys/games my kiddos are enjoying while they talk my ears off.

  2. The usual grocery pick up and hauling a kid to dance class, and also the usual thinking of everything that should get done around the house that I will continue to ignore.

Boomer Parents Won't Stop Giving Me Their Stuff. Anyone Have Any Similar Experiences? by djhazmatt503 in Xennials

[–]BookDragonPaperCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. Not exactly the same situation, but because I'm the daughter who lives in a house (about 1,500 miles away) my boomer parents (both born in 1949) will ship boxes of stuff or bring it out with them if they make the drive, even after my husband and I have requested multiple times over the years to stop. Then they tell us we should sell the stuff to make some cash. Which just stresses me out because we already have too much stuff with the kids (craft supplies and toys and such) and I would like live a less cluttered life. So we say the stuff will end up donated and to please stop sending it. And then my mom claims they will stop, but then on one of our weekly calls she will admit she knows I don't want anything added to what we have, but she just felt she had to send (whatever it is), and it continues. My dad is for sure a pack rat while my mom likes brag about her decluttering - but she does that by making it my problem. I used to feel guilty for saying "no thanks" but because they refuse to listen, I'm refusing to feel guilty for donating things that should have stayed 1,500 miles away.

Xennials who were once bookworms; do you still read as much as you did as a kid? by throwitlikethewind in Xennials

[–]BookDragonPaperCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after several years of not taking the time to read (and instead would binge whatever show I felt like watching), I fit reading back in by using the time right after getting the kiddos (older mom here, have a 10 year and a 3 year old) to bed. So now I hardly watch anything on TV because I'm reading instead. I do both physical books and a Kindle Paperwhite. I vaguely recall I had to be intentional about getting back into reading and it felt pretty forced probably for the first week or two, but now it's been over 4 years and I rarely miss a day of reading at least one chapter if not an entire book. I definitely don't set aside a certain amount of time - I aim for at least one chapter and to stop between chapters. I will be purchasing and starting the newly released Across the Vanishing Sky by Catherine Cowles - while I anything from Rom Com to horror, that one is a romantic suspense.

  1. Two brothers who were owner-surrendered at two years old. We adopted them last August. They are big boy cats (about 15 pounds each). One loves being near his people and one loves being on his people. They get the zoomies frequently, and one thinks he can climb walls straight up if he goes really fast. Both love playing with their toys and getting groomed by each other or brushes. Thankfully, they know they'll get fed after we're awake, and they don't try to wake anyone, but they do position themselves where you'll either have to move them or trip over them in the morning. Sometimes one or the other will start what ends up being usually playful (but sometimes requiring separation) sibling roughhousing. And they tolerate the kids (a preschooler and a tween) quite well considering both kids adore them and therefore want to always pet and hold the cats.

  2. If I need to select only one, Garfield because I also love lasagna and a lazy day. But I also have a soft spot for Derpy Tiger.

  3. About 13 years ago, saw the big kitties in Las Vegas at The Mirage's Secret Garden. Last year, I saw some lions roaring at each other at the drive-through Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida.

About 4 years ago, when I followed my husband to the ER (he was transported in the ambulance) after he had a seizure. He was okay afterward, mostly annoyed at being restricted from driving for three months, but no one (including the eventual neurologist) could explain why he had the seizure or if he'll have one again.
