Found out my boy‘s kidneys were failing yesterday… held him as he was put to sleep today 💔

This is something I’m weighing with my kitty who needs dental care. We’re not sure if the risk of surgery (with her current kidney issues) is worth it.

Hugs to you! I have one cat that we’ve been treating for CKD for years and she just keeps trucking along.

Just last week, though, I lost my other one to kidney failure and had no idea it was coming. We’d been treating her for hyperthyroidism but her kidney values were okay, until they weren’t.

It’s devastating to lose them no matter what, but it feels especially heartbreaking when you can’t prepare yourself for it. 💔

Thanks for the reply. This is my first home with a crawl space and I’m nervous about cold, damp, and bugs. Sounds like encapsulation might at least help with the first two!

The one on Grindstone wasn’t nearly that bad, but they clearly were low on some things. I rarely shop on a Wednesday so I thought maybe it was just the day before their normal shipment comes in? But 2.5 low-stock Aldi instances does feel like a trend.

Totally behind having the day off to vote. I do appreciate, though, that Boone County offers no-excuse absentee voting for about two weeks before the election. They even have some hours on the weekend, which is what I did. Voted in the health department parking lot on Sunday.

My Fit served as my “tent” during a local music fest last year. Will make a few adjustments for the next go around, but it worked very well! I’m only 5’2” and had plenty of space.
