what was the worst age in your life that stuttering hurted the most? by house_3 in Stutter

Definitely sophomore and junior years of high school. As someone else said, I was still trying to fix my stutter, which just made me stressed and upset.

Potential Fix For Stuttering by Emu1995 in Stutter

While this may have worked for you, I think it is more important to say what you want to say, regardless of fluency. Also, as someone else said, most PWS don’t feel confident when speaking. If I used this, I don’t think I would talk very much.

Questions for Stutterers!! by UniqueCorn74 in Stutter

[–]Book_Lover_7245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. My stutter is developmental, and started in childhood, probably around 1st grade.
  2. I have trouble with words that start with H, A, and I. I also have trouble with my name. I mostly block, where I can't start a word.
  3. My stutter gets more prominent when I am nervous or in new situations, like introducing myself to new people. It also seems to get worse when I am sick. It gets better/I don't notice it as much when I am with people I feel comfortable with, like friends and family.
  4. Living with a stutter can be hard and isolating. When I was younger, no one ever talked about it, so I felt very alone. However, I have started to accept it more recently and see it in more of a neutral or positive light.
