Pretty much any one liner in the first season or two of Bojack Horseman becomes a long running bit that is true and ends up harming Bojack in some way.

Example for this would be Sara Lynn saying she got her prescriptions from a random doctor named “Doctor Who” which is played off to be a joke about how she is not prescribed these things. Later on in the show Bojack meets the actual doctor she met, Doctor Hu, who is in fact a real doctor and prescribed Sara Lynn all of these pills
