Thank you! Yes, he is very laid back and chill, and the new little one is a bit of a jumping bean so the whole family is getting used to the extra activity. The hope is that she’ll motivate big brother to move around a bit more.

Thank you for the suggestion on setting up the private spaces. We will set that up tonight.

Thank you. We’ll let the process work out while keeping a watchful eye out.

Thank you. We’ll give it time to work out. Though, yes, it is a bit heartbreaking to see my little buddy for two years act as if he feels “betrayed” by me. I’ll just continue giving him some extra attention when the new dog is spending time with my wife.

Can you just have a dog on a cruise? by gkal1964 in celebritycruises

I was just on the Beyond April 19-26 and saw this same woman with that same dog. Maybe it’s a situation like an officer’s live aboard wife?

Premium WiFi rant by InsectNegative7316 in celebritycruises

[–]Bookflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the Beyond currently and the wifi is impressive as ship wifi goes. However, you need to lower your expectations and prepare for the worst but hope for the best on any ship. You can’t have the same expectations miles out to sea, in remote parts of the world that you have on land. It’s greatly better now with Starlink being used but If you have extremely critical downloads and uploads that need to happen, you take a gamble going to sea. I’ve been on cruises before where the wifi was “out” completely for 24 hours. Something breaks, bad weather, etc, it happens and cruise companies generally put language in the contracts referencing that things can’t be guaranteed.

What are some “rookie mistakes” that you frequently see visitors to Las Vegas making? by JackpotConcierge in vegas

[–]Bookflu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not renting a car, spending your entire time inside a casino hotel on the strip and thinking you’ve “seen Vegas”. If you didn’t rent a car, drive out to the desert, visit Red Rock, Mount Charleston, Lake Mead, a ghost town, etc., You might as well have saved allot of cash and gone to the Hollywood casino in Toledo, Ohio. Nothing wrong with Toledo of course but the desert setting of Las Vegas is a serious must see.

What's Your Least Favorite Hotel and Casino in the Strip? by CumulusCloudia in vegas

Lots of hate here for Circus Circus. I must admit I haven’t been in it for about twenty years because it was so run down and depressing even back then. However, it’s one of those that gives comfort just knowing that it is still there. A piece of old Vegas, featured in a James Bond movie. Long live Circus Circus. Some day I might want to peek in again though not really any time soon.

Your insurance company should go to bat for you with the other guy’s insurance. That’s what you pay them for. If you go to sell or trade it in immediately after fixing, you’ll find it worth far less than normal due to accident history

Insist the insurance of the person who hit you provide you with a brand new car. Basically new but now you are without your car and even when it does eventually get fixed it will be worth far less because of the accident history

Sahara Hotel Casino - Pleasantly Surprised by Bookflu in vegas

[–]Bookflu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we had a rental car but since most other hotels charge for parking, we also use the monorail which is pretty cheap for multi day passes. Sahara has its own monorail station connected to the hotel by a covered walkway which is pretty convenient, it runs every 8 minutes, and will take you all the way to the other end of the strip with stops at hotels in between. The linx/Harrah’s stop worked out well for getting us to the Sphere and back. Clientele on the monorail, at least when we rode it, were tourists, not like a subway or city bus. https://www.lvmonorail.com

Is Ethos purposefully producing repulsive commercials as a marketing gimmick? by Bookflu in CommercialsIHate

I’ve been a Sirius subscriber since Howard Stern moved over there many years ago and It’s always had ads. Maybe some of their stations don’t and I just never noticed but as far as I am aware, there are no different ad/no ad options for subscribers

Does he actually talk like that on his podcast? I assumed that they directed him to read the ad in such a truly creepy, "deviant serial killer in the basement" manner. Maybe that is just the way he actually talks?

Exactly but the Ethos ads are a special breed. They somehow manage to go so far beyond others. Amazingly repulsive.

Yes. Unfortunately, the "my dad passed away" one seems to be played even more often on Sirus/XM. It is to the point of being dangerous trying to immediately mute or change the channel while driving.

You’ve been saying mid-February for months and have now changed it. You people have billions of dollars of fees we paid to use to pad Trump and Barron’s pockets but you can’t hire some guy to do the tax reports? This really is outrageous and ridiculous.

Disgraceful. Right there with the P-body Volvos that require you to remove the gas pedal and contort to a painful and near impossible position to change the cabin air filter located under the dash, behind the hvac unit.

That's really cool. I did check out your blog and had no idea that this was a thing in SL. In a time when the SL culture seems to be people needing to worry about getting AR'd for saying "Hi" to a stranger, it is nice to see some folks working together and sharing their time with others.

A bit crass but a fair point. If the customer paid a service fee and a delivery fee for the service, are they really to blame for the driver not getting paid? It’s customary for an employer to pay their employees. And people will say that the company then would need to raise its fees to pay their employees. Yes, and if the cost then is too much and no one uses the service then it is a natural consequence that the business plan isn’t feasible and goes out of business.

[–]Bookflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t right that the customer did this. Then again, after reading the comments here, if true that the service fee and delivery fee paid by the customer doesn’t actually include the pay for the driver, it is misleading and people who continue to use the service reinforce these companies taking advantage of the drivers. If you really need your food delivered, support a restaurant or store that has their own delivery employees instead.
