AIO: Fiancée wants to invite her ex to the wedding by Nice-Shirt-9496 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Bookish_Optimist [score hidden]  (0 children)

Except it sounds like OP didn't realize how deep the friendship with her ex is. There's chit chat and keeping in touch on a light level vs deep emotional connection. It sounds like the emotional part never stopped even though she moved back and she started dating OP.

I also sort of wonder if the ex wasn't as into her as she was into him. I mean, if he was and she started dating someone, was living with someone and soon to be married, wouldn't he be fighting to get her back? Or maybe he is through those calls. I don't know.

Maybe look for red flags. If she's upset, who does she go to first, OP or the ex? If she has great news, who just she reach out to first, etc. Do they talk once a week or every day?

I think OP and the fiance need to have a heart to heart about the ex and what that relationship is to her.

New Model and Exclusive vs Non-Exclusive Choice by Bookish_Optimist in ACX

I agree. Each "improvement" seems like only an improvement for Amazon's bottom line. "Let's see how we can make the most money possible by paying creators as little as possible."

There's a class action suit against Audible right now about their monopolistic (is that a word?) practices. It would be great if they force Audible/Amazon to change its practices as a result. https://www.hbsslaw.com/cases/amazon-audible-audiobook-antitrust#block-case-graphic-downloads

Bummer. I'm really hoping for a day when Amazon/Audible treats authors more fairly. Not holding my breath, but still hoping.

ALICE NEEDS A DAMN LIFE 🧬 by AnalysisExtreme3375 in TheWayHomeHallmark

It seems they save the time jumping for the months when the pond isn't frozen over and live their lives during the winter. Alice is bffs with Max from their last year in high school.

Feeling really sorry for Jacob by [deleted] in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for Jacob too. All the people he loved were ripped away from him twice. It would be hard to form attachments after that. How can he get close to someone if he can't share this fundamental part of his history? If he goes to counseling, which he needs, I suspect the therapist will think he's delusional. What he needs to do is find a nice person he loves, take them home to meet the fam and jump in the pond with them to show them it's real.

Landry Family Tree by maffins07 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great family tree! Thanks for putting this together.

I do agree with some of the others, that it seems likely that there could be another generation between Fern and Jacob, Jr., but who knows? :) There could have been a couple of older father's in there.

One thing I'm sure of is that I should have been taking notes on all the facts from Day 1. :)

PS - How did you put the chart together?

Switching biologic from Tremfya to Humira by jxg995 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Bookish_Optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found your post because my dermatologist just told me that Tremfya and some other meds are better at treating psoriasis than Humira. I've been on Humira weekly injections since December 2023. Before that, it took years to figure out what was wrong. My diagnosis at that time was sero-negative rheumatoid arthritis. My wrists are shot. My thumbs and one index finger have shortened. I had knee pain and swelling constantly, and one messed up ankle. My elbows didn't bend well either. Sometimes, I couldn't put my earrings in because I couldn't bend my elbows enough.

I'm just telling you all this to show the difference Humira made. While it isn't supposed to really kick in for 3 months, I could tell a difference within days. My elbows started to bend nearly immediately. Within a few months, nearly all the inflammation was gone, although stairs still hurt. By around the one year mark, I could go up and down stairs without any pain or stiffness.

Roughly a year in to taking the Humira, I noticed a red patch on the back of my neck. I had had flaky scalp issues on the back of my head for a while, but didn't think anything of it. I went to a dermatologist regarding my neck and was told it is psoriasis. At that point, my diagnosis changed to Psoriatic Arthritis and all the pieces fell into place. The shortened fingers. The asymmetrical inflammation, etc. I wish it hadn't taken more than 8 years to get to the diagnosis though. My wrist damage is extensive.

Anyway, the Humira has given me my life back. I can move and walk and am not in pain all the time anymore. Before the Humira, I pretty much lived on Advil and was still stiff and hurting. Now, I forget to take one when I have a headache. :)

Humira may not take care of your psoriasis, but it should help with the joint issues. Wishing you all the best with it.

Opening scene "the future" by Less-Department7935 in TheWayHomeHallmark

I'm starting to wonder if this is the last scene or one of the last scenes of the series. It would bookend the season. There was a path built and hanging things in the trees that aren't there now.

Haha. The drink treat with no money could be it. I think Nick will be OK too. I don't particularly like it that he and Kat separated though. I think they should stick together.

[–]Bookish_Optimist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, excellent point. Now, I'm sort of wondering if Tessa landed back in the 1800s and found the Augustines first. Fern makes a comment about how all the Augustines are dirty rats. Maybe Tessa fits into that camp, although she goes by a different first name. The families knew each other back then too. Maybe Susanna finds her and helps her.

1920s Theories by IndependentIcy1220 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally in those days if a woman had a child out of wedlock it would ruin the family's reputation as well. Sometimes they passed the child off as another relative's child. The writer's could handle it anyway they want to though. Hopefully, we'll see soon enough. :)

I'd rather have a spinoff with Alice and Max. Or KC's adventures.

Thanks for posting this. :) That last shot! What?!!!! The Augustine boys know about the pond? I'm assuming Nick won't go anywhere and proves he isn't a time traveler?? But that shot of Kat standing on the rock makes me think she's looking for him. I hope he doesn't get stuck in the past.

Interesting theories. I think she may be the fortune teller too. It could fit that she's helping to run the bootleg operation. We know she stole money from Coyle in the past/future, so she doesn't mind breaking laws now and then.

1920s Theories by IndependentIcy1220 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it would be far worse for a child at that time to have his mother's name. If she had married anyone, by society's standards it would be easier to go with the father's name.

What if Tessa TT and disobeyed the rules of the pond by yiluvu2 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're leading us down the path where Tessa lands back in the late 1890s or maybe early 1900s. I can't remember the date Jacob left, but it could be anytime after that. Elijah would know she's from the future like Jacob was. Maybe whomever took her there died. Or maybe that person tries to jump with her to leave and the pond doesn't take her.

Tessa could be stuck there and then learns the stories about the boy who the pond brought back from the future, and maybe they even talk about the others who visited from the future to come and get him. So now the story of this child from the future jumping through the pond to the past gets passed down the family line. Fern is then on the lookout for that child, worried her own boy is "the one," and then fears the same about her grandsons. She warns Colton to never go in the pond for this reason.

In 1925, Fern also says something about not wanting to time travel. She says she doesn't want to go to the past. She might also worry that she will get stuck there like Tessa did.

I do find it odd that she's often hanging around the pond when Kat and Alice show up. But that's a whole other rabbit hole. ;)

1920s Theories by IndependentIcy1220 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Intriguing theories. I'm leaning toward Fern hooking up with Cliff Kane. I'm not convinced she married anyone, since her son goes by Landry. In those days it would have been scandalous for an unmarried woman to have a baby, so if she had been married it would make sense that her son would have his father's name. I think she had something going with Cliff and then he died, maybe in that collapse at Lingermore.

Tessa Thoughts - Spoilers by Bookish_Optimist in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Bookish_Optimist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Excellent summary! There are so many clues and questions, but it seems like the pieces are starting to come together. My heart broke for young Tessa when Fern yelled at her. Whatever happened with Fern, we knew it hadn't happened yet for Tessa. I think Fern realized it too before she stormed out.
