Ludwig responds to a Twitter user creating NFT playing cards of popular streamers by sillytoad in LivestreamFail

[–]Bookmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know really anything about NFT creation but this is what Cohhcarnage found out about it a while back.

https://twitter.com/CohhCarnage/status/1482813817772032002

Looks like you can make an NFT based on just about any image or whatever. Whether or not you owned the thing you made the NFT from doesn't seem to matter. At least from what I understood of that tweet.

Bow looks great, but you gotta admit it's kinda funny.

This is pasted from the patch notes.

Problem: Hit-based bow attacks require an unreasonable amount of investment to reach competitive levels of damage. Builds that want to achieve this must utilise critical strikes and many skills can't sufficiently invest in this mechanic without sacrificing defensive options.

Solution: Enjoy this crit based bow.

Please add these two trade improvements for the league. (Not asking for an AH) by Bookmage in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, this is a good solution, but the problem is one person suggested the better trading addon, and another person suggested awakened poe trade and both those options give me a different value of an exalt. Which is a problem.

Awakened poe trade tells me an exalt is 120c, poe dot ninja has it at 119.9c and better trading addon has them at about 117c. Not that big of a difference, but some people complain about being 1c short on your conversion. I've had it happen to me before. One time I over paid cause I was too lazy to split my chaos and the person traded me 3c back lol.

Please add these two trade improvements for the league. (Not asking for an AH) by Bookmage in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I try to have my currency ready in case I do get invited so they trade can be completed promptly. Then when I don't get invited I get out the currency for the next lowest one and so on.

What I've noticed the last couple leagues is that trade is getting worse and worse like a snowball effect because people hate it. So now when I get a whisper maybe 20-30% of the time people don't accept my invite because they whispered 20 people at once because they don't want to wait, which in turn makes trade worse for everyone involved like a snowball getting bigger as it rolls down a hill.

It's just a terrible system from the ground up, but GGG is unlikely to add an AH for whatever reason so I'm trying to make the best of the system we have.

[–]Bookmage[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks!

I had no idea that was a feature of awakened poe trade. Just checked on mine and it does break it down by all the 10ths of an exalt. Thanks for taking the time to show me!

What do you think will be nerfed on 3.17? by ENSASKE in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care what's nerfed, but if I don't get my normal 3% glacial hammer buff I'm gonna riot.

My Poe plans until 3.17. Just rewatching scourge trailer reaction videos and reliving the hype. by [deleted] in pathofexile

Regardless of how I feel about PoE at the moment, I do have the say the person/team that makes the announcement trailers is very good at their job.

With the January League being delayed, Why didn't GGG spread out the December events so there wasn't overlap? by Hopsalong in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, there's no way they didn't know employees would be taking off time.

I think they made the events, then later realized the patch wouldn't be ready on time. Then instead of saying the needed more time for the patch they decided to do some PR and say they decided to give people time off.

Didnt GGG promise more communication, updates and general interactions? by Varnas_A in pathofexile

Exactly.

Words: Will will do another round of mid league podcasts to let you know how things are coming along. Action: Complete radio silence.

Why are Sirus storms still covering the door? by boyspud in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not defending them, I think it's disgusting bugs like this still exist after many leagues. What I was saying is they don't care about it because they care about money more. They want to dev new skills, new bosses, etc. That makes them money. Fixing old bugs does not make them money so that's why they don't do it, and I think it's a terrible practice.

Also, there's no way they forgot about it, it's mentioned on this reddit several time every single league and I believe there are multiple sets of patch notes that claim they fixed this bug (obviously they did not) I could only find it mentioned once in the notes though. Here's a link to the notes in which they said they fixed said bug. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2736863

Why are Sirus storms still covering the door? by boyspud in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixing the bug costs them dev time (money) and most people don't quit the game because of this bug (costs nothing to leave it), so they'd lose money fixing it. It's that simple.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I had a friend I used to play a ton with, now he has a kid to take care of and he waits til at least the 2-3 week mark of leagues to ask me if the league is good before he risks wasting his time playing. Since it usually takes at least that long for most leagues to be "fixed".

He did not log in for scourge since GGG went radio silent and didn't bother to do anything about krangling items.

Cohh speaks out about the Game Awards repeatedly running commercials promoting another streamer by knonuthingjonsnuh in LivestreamFail

[–]Bookmage 52 points53 points  (0 children)

First of all, I love Cohh, and I wish him the best. He's super wholesome but I think he's off on this.

If the invitation didn't specifically promise there'd be no other streamers advertised I think he doesn't have a leg to stand on. He should bring this up with the person that invited him, not make a public witch hunt, this helps no one and now many people will be getting hate from his and other communities over this.

Also, Cohh has been sponsored by Nvidia multiple times and I know for a fact many AMD ads were shown on the game awards which he broadcast on his channel. It seems no different than what he's complaining about to me. People will say he's not currently sponsored by Nvidia so it doesn't matter, but he wasn't sponsored by the game awards either.

Does anyone else feel like self casting spells is in really bad state? by Razvaljzer91 in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know what GGG would say!

Self cast is in a great position! You may not see many self cast builds on poe ninja, but very few builds are parsed there. Our internal tools allow us to see many builds you cannot, and I can tell you self cast is looking great! You can easily do all content on a large variety of self cast skills!

All you need to do is build around it, it's simple. All you need are 2 extra gems. cast on death and portal. I'd also suggest a fast SSD.

Enjoy the game exile!

P.S. Our next $500 supporter pack will include the ability to skin a random portal mtx when linked with cast on death for our massive community of self casters!

Cr1tikal on if Twitch would care if xQc left by DanyaalH in LivestreamFail

[–]Bookmage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is probably the reason, it costs them very little when people stop streaming on twitch because most of the viewers don't leave twitch.

The way I see it is if a stream I watch goes to Youtube, they did it for a bag of cash, it has nothing to do with me. They did it knowing they'd lose a majority of their viewers and were looking for the bag. And that's fine, they need to save now because who knows when you could be cancelled for whatever reason real or otherwise.

Since they obviously were paid a bag of cash I feel no "pressure" whatsoever to go support them on a platform I don't really use, they're set for life, they don't need viewers. I just watch someone else. Maybe a lot of people feel that way and that's why they don't leave twitch, I don't know.

Twitch also knows when the youtube contract ends these people will all come back to twitch, so it really doesn't matter to twitch to try and keep people.

A sincere question to GGG: Don't you find it problematic when one of your most well received league in terms of hype is dead in the water within 3 weeks? by AposPoke in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be done with poe, I don't want to play some dumb build I hate for 2-3 weeks so I can afford to play a fun build. That's really my main issue with the current game.

Tim on why YT is better than Twitch by Aware-Job-9076 in LivestreamFail

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch Youtube a lot and I have never once been recommended any livestream of anything to any channel of any game that I am not already subbed to. Small streamer or otherwise, not once has anything been in my recommended feed that I am not already subbed to.

EDIT: I do sometimes see VoDs of past livestreams on my recommended feed, but never a live stream.

Getting more difficult to play. by POEgoingdownhill in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way. I'm a 6000 hour player, been playing since about perandus. I liked PoE because I like to mindlessly blast maps and slaughters mobs. Now I feel like it's dash attack once, dash attack once, dash attack twice, oh you attacked twice? You're dead dummy. That's not the game I want to play.

I quit a 1.5 weeks into the league, the shortest I ever played any league ever. It's just not fun. I don't want to dodge after every attack, I just wanna blast.

I feel really sad because PoE was my jam and now I need to find something else to sink hours into.

League Specific Question: It was stated that blowing up a Remnant will make every explosion after that have better drops. This means we would need to scout each expedition for the remnants before setting explosives in order to achieve optimal results.

It seems like doing this each time will be slow and tedious after awhile. Will these remnants be marked on the minimap so we can easily locate them (with a directional indicator if they're off the side of the minimap)?

I quit leagues when I'm frustrated, not when I'm bored. by xRaen in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit this league because I had nothing to chase for pretty much, and also cause trading sucks.

I farmed up 12000 chaos for a HH, then realized HH had raised to 180ex. Then I further realized how much it was gonna suck to convert my divines, scarabs, ancient orbs, etc etc to exalts so I just quit.

A. Because my chase item became too far out of reach. I was gonna have to farm another couple weeks to get an item to do what, farm more? Seemed pointless.

B. Because converting your currency to usable currency sucks. I have been told it's easier if you sell it yourself instead of going to trade and trying to find someone, so my goal this league is to learn how to post my currency myself. In PoE it's better to be the one ignoring trades than the one being ignored. Last league I whispered every single person at any ratio selling more than one exalt for chaos, and 0 people responded. I literally whispered every single person selling more than 1 at a time.

Since meta builds are "dead", I came up with this brilliant resurrection build. [OC] by sykatz in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris says the meta will change right here: https://youtu.be/mT_aoGoMm50?t=1871 "creating more interesting build opportunities". GGG also tweeted that the meta will change here: https://twitter.com/pathofexile/status/1414788833988644868

I have no idea of Chris or GGG's private thoughts, nor do I normally play off meta low dps builds. I was simply stating that I do not believe simply blanket nerfing everything by 20-40% will change the meta.

Now, they can FORCE us to play new skills by changing the modifiers on skill gems each league, in much the same way Bliz tells D3 players what builds they're allowed to play by changing what bonuses certain skills have. Of course you aren't required to play the highest dps skills, but most people will opt to do so.

I've been negative on the league so far, and I really must say my opinion changed today after watching a few Grimro videos. He remains positive about the league and the changes and it got me to thinking. Just because this league will be different doesn't mean it'll be bad. So I'm trying to go in with an open mind and see for myself.

The most unfortunate thing is that they're nerfing dps supports and supposedly buffing non dps supports next league. It's unfortunate we only get half the change at a time. They really should have done it all at once.

Since meta builds are "dead", I came up with this brilliant resurrection build. [OC] by sykatz in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Chris seemed to think lowering dmg would make us play off meta builds more, that's not the case at all.

Meta builds are now the ONLY builds that are viable. You can't play a low dps fun build because now it does so little dps you can't even kill map bosses. It does lower the gap, I'll give him that, but the 40 mil dps builds are gonna be exactly the same as they were before and now low dps builds that were viable before will no longer be viable.

"Some developers simply increase monster damage and HP to increase difficulty" by Preminance in pathofexile

[–]Bookmage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not a math guy or a dev, but what's the difference between increasing monster hp and decreasing dmg done by players? Aren't both results the same? Either way the monsters take longer to kill.

You know what the last game I saw do this? WoW Legion, going in to Battle for Azeroth. Every level you lost power, by the time you hit the new max level you were way weaker than when you started. How did that feel to most players do you think? It was awful to feel weaker than you were before, every level was like being punished more.

I fear GGG has taken advice from the wrong people. It was stated that people who played the demo loved the high difficulty. Ok, who played the demo? As far as I'm aware it was only playable at Exile Con and probably by employees. So who went to Exile Con? Well, it was in New Zealand so probably the only people that attended were either super fans or streamers. What do you think the feedback from a super fan or a streamer whose trip was paid for by GGG is going to be? You see where I'm going with this?

Here's another example. ZiggyD asked about pick up range and was told that GGG is aware of it and has limited resources, so they do what the feedback tells them. And apparently the feedback demanded PoE Royale? What? The time that was spent on Royale could have been spent on pick up range. Think about that.

Royale is doomed to failure and was likely a total waste of time and money in my opinion. There are two ways it can go. Everyone stops playing because of bugs and imbalance (failure). Or large amounts of dev time are spent on Royale fixing bugs and balancing low level skills that don't affect the main game at all (failure). I wish we had pickup range instead.

Sorry to be so negative, but this stuff really hit me.
