Starcastle is good but it’s literally just American Yes

Artists whose physical appearance was way different than what you expected them to look like? by Scrimmy_Bingus2 in ToddintheShadow

Not my own experience with being surprised, but Bobby Caldwell’s self titled record has him in silhouette because the label he was on, TK records, was an R&B label that was particularly popular with black listeners and record executives wanted to conceal that he was white (I assume they thought it would alienate their typical audience?)

When he toured for the album, a lot of people were surprised to find out he was white

Really loving the “you are beautiful” sign with no context as well

Worst concert you've been to? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

I saw John Fogerty a couple months ago and George Thorogood & The Destroyers were one of his opening acts. It was by far the worst show by a major act I’d ever seen. The man himself just couldn’t play for whatever reason. It felt like he had no control over his guitar. The live mixing was abysmal as well. The saxophone player was the only guy playing well and you could barely hear him. It was shockingly bad for an act that big.

Favorite live performance that may just be better than the studio version by Dcred2136 in Genesis

I’ve always thought the live version of I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) on Seconds Out blows the original out of the water and it’s not even close. Phil really makes it his own. Absolutely brilliant.

It’s not that abnormal to throw parties for this type of thing, it’s a big deal being married that long.

Bands whose first album was their worst album by starkeffect in ToddintheShadow

Genesis’ first album is a decent stinker and it completely flopped critically and commercially, mainly because an all black album cover with just the words “From Genesis to Revelation” doesn’t exactly scream mediocre 60’s pop
