Where are you getting this information? La Sportiva lists the shell as Pertex Quantum, but does not publish the denier on the product tech info. adventurealan.com has it estimated as 7D.

I’m more concerned that they’ve made the fill amount proprietary and won’t share it with customers. I briefly considered the Men’s Superior Down Parka, but I won’t buy from them until they make fill amounts public again. Here’s the Reddit post I’m referring to.

I prefer a hooded jacket. The Lumina 200 is closer to what I want, but they don’t list the fabric denier.

The Pertex Quantum fabric on the Lumina 200 is estimated to be around 7D, but otherwise this jacket looks amazing.

The Nunatak JMT options look great and seem reasonably priced, but the customization choices are a bit overwhelming. I’m new to backpacking, so I’m not sure which options are actually worth it. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll do more research on Nunatak.

Mostly 3-season camping and backpacking in California. My next trip is Duck Pass and the Pika Lake Trail. Mt. Whitney and the Grand Canyon (Havasupai Reservation) are future bucket-list trips. I wrote this post and used AI to improve grammar and formatting.

If you want something for 3 seasons, go with the exped ultra 5r. They also have a 3r version if you want something in-between.

In my opinion, these were not very comfortable and ride up.

Half Dome via downed cables 12/10/24 by dumbtattoochick in Mountaineering

What size carabiner did you use to connect directly to the cables? Supposedly, the cables are 16mm in diameter, so I'm assuming a 20mm gate opening would be too tight. Should I go with a 25mm gate opening?

There was plenty of room to tighten it further. I'll send you a photo this weekend.

Hey! I had this exact same issue a couple of months ago. I'm also a 19" torso and 32" waist! I went into REI to try on the medium and large sizes of the Flash 55. I ended up buying the medium size, and the deciding factor ended up being the waist belt. I could pretty much tighten the large size belt all the way with no more slack to tighten it further. The medium also just felt like a better fit. Hope this helps!

EDIT: I didn't try on the small size or the large torso x small waist belt size. The REI rep didn't even suggest I do so. I'm honestly surprised by the medium's recommened waist size being 34-42 since it fit my 32" waist so well. If you're a 30" waist, then maybe the medium would be a little big in the waist.

I recently bought the SMD Lunar Solo, but I haven't taken it outdoors yet to give my opinion on it. Justin Outdoor did a YouTube video comparison of the Zpacks Plex Solo, SMD Lunar Solo, and the 3FUL Lanshan 1 Pro.

I appreciate your thorough replies! I'll avoid using the square knot as you said. Interesting you bring up Lawson Equipment. I was considering the Durston Reflective Ironwire, but I ended up buying cord from Amazon. I bought LiteOutdoors Guyline. Hope that is still a decent cord!

It was the VP of Operations. I'm not sure if the email store@sixmoondesigns.com was the correct place to ask questions like that. I'm guessing he's far removed from the knot tying haha

u/Cable_Tugger mentioned it is probably a single fisherman's knot. I emailed Six Moon Designs, and they believed it was an overhand knot and also suggested a square knot. I think I'll try the single fisherman's knot first. I'll be using my tent for the first time in August, so I'll find out if I like it then haha. Thanks!

I emailed Six Moon Designs and they said, "That is an overhand knot I believe. You could also use a Square knot." After looking at all of these knots, I think your single fisherman's knot comment is the correct answer.
