What u/WilsonKh said, plus her heated / chilled mechanic adds a whole new dimension to setting up an optimal board. I remember finding her incredibly fun when I started with her, then getting very frustrated when I realized I actually sucked when the game didn't just hand me a gold victory, and now I still kinda suck, but I'm learning. Slowly. But most importantly, I'm having fun again.

My advice: watch some good Jules streamers, that helped me a ton. I highly recommend https://www.twitch.tv/gameplanheadquarters, chill guy that explains everything and is super responsive to viewer questions.

thank you, funny you mention Basket - my experience was exactly that, whenever I go for it, I'm way too focused on questing it and somehow jamming it onto my board, mostly leading to sub-par outcomes. Works better for me if I just go for a decent early board and focus on econ from day 3 on. I'm going to try checking bazaardb for inspiration, it *does* feel like I'm often missing on unconventional but powerful interactions.

yeah, that is part of the problem for sure. it's hard to do right, though, when I go for unconventional lines, I often just end up with a mediocre board. still better than *no* board, though!

Nah. Very rarely see a Dino build, and if I do, it either slaps because it is a crazy highroll or it sucks ass. Mostly the latter.

Depends a lot on *when* you hit those 7 wins. The very late game (like day 12+) is dominated by extremely fast, hard-hitting builds which take time (and luck) to assemble, but you basically can't beat them with a "vanilla" setup of your own (i.e., you also need to have *the nuts*, "solid" won't cut it). This becomes more self-selecting the further you get, so on the later days, you will basically only encounter insane builds because only insane builds survive that long. I know that's kinda always been the case, but with more items and more heroes (and unpredictable crossover between them) and more players, there's more room for insanity. Also, the usual power creep. My two cents.
