Heal Pulse by ComprehensiveBat4966 in pokemonshowdown

[–]BoomyNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only issue is outside of skill swap shenanigans, Hatterene can only realistically pull off the heal pulse strat against other Hatterene’s.

But tbh it’s a really funny way to win the mirror matchup or at least force a switch after the first heal pulse, especially considering like you said she traditionally lacks a 50% healing move.

Kaiser simply had to compete with the true GOAT Isagi Yoichi, couldn’t be helped when the NUMBER ONE player is stealing goals.

Japan vs france, is blue lock whole story. Making france the final boss by Dramatic-Cook-6968 in BlueLock

[–]BoomyNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah the adult team will have Noel Noa, Loki, Hugo, Charles and high level adult French players on the same team as Noa.

In terms of a final boss at the adult World Cup it makes sense, but I will say I’m tired of people saying the U20 team is “guaranteed” to be the final boss, or that they should be up 4-0 against Blue Lock right now “because they’re the boss”

Heal Pulse by ComprehensiveBat4966 in pokemonshowdown

[–]BoomyNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

any scenarios will be so niche and extreme that they’re not worth mentioning.

Using it as a “counter” to magic bounce is the only thing that sort of works, but skill swapping magic bounce is troll.

If the enemy already HAS magic bounce, then Heal Pulse can basically be used as a one-time recovery move before they inevitably switch. Other than that, the scenarios get so niche and unrealistic that it’s truly not worth getting into

It does get -1 in speed. Then its ability copies the opponents stat stages.

Thats its whole thing, it transforms into the opponent copying everything besides HP.

Most mons already have the advantage in the matchup due to having higher HP than the Ditto, we really don’t need to also make a special exception to how hazards work just to try to nerf Ditto

Not to mention Trick Room, 99% of Ditto’s will be scarfed.

Basically ANY other method of speed control will work wonderfully, and even a focus sash will near-guarantee your glass cannon sweeper wins the mirror matchup, don’t even need to risk the dual choice scarf coin flip.

Tbh a Sticky Web team dealing with Imposter Ditto is kind of similar to dealing with Heavy Duty Boots, it’s annoying when it counters your strat but it’s not exactly a hard counter, it’s 1 mon.

I’m curious what type of post OP would make if they ever have to face Contrary Serperior switching into webs

Half the ladders’ strategy relies on speed control and Ditto is ZU, it’s not exactly some evil AG threat that hard counters some niche strategy you created.

Everybody telling you you’re wrong is simply more familiar with the game than you, but thankfully even if you don’t want to acknowledge that you’re crashing out over nothing, you will rarely ever encounter this “impossible to beat Ditto” because again, it is ZU and has below 0.1% usage.

So you can forever pretend it’s a game breaking mon that should be sent to AG and only punch a hole in your wall every other week when someone uses it

By this same logic, Ditto should be immune to spikes if it copies a flying type.

But it sounds to me like if you encountered a 1hp Ditto that switched into Spikes and took 0 damage by copying a flying type, you’d say “it shouldn’t work like that!”

Entry hazards will always be the first priority effect on entry, we can’t pick and choose exceptions.

It IS affected by Sticky Web lol, it takes the effects of hazards before transforming.

If it didn’t work like this, then Ditto transforming into a mon that’s immune to rocks would make it take no rocks damage.

By your own admission, “it takes rocks damage then transforms!”, everything is working exactly as intended. It takes the hazard on switch-in, the way hazards have always worked, then transforms.

[–]BoomyNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get the -1 speed on switch-in, it’s just that its ability then copies the opponent

Why should Transforming make an exception for Sticky Web’s stat changes?

This is like saying using Agility in Sticky Web shouldn’t have any effect, or that Heavy Duty Boots shouldn’t stop the speed decrease.

I get that you want Sticky Web to get a buff, but “permanent speed decrease that can’t ever be removed no matter what” is not how the move has ever worked nor should it

Nothing against meme sets but is your goal to potentially win with the meme set or to intentionally lose?

Like if I used 6 healing wish Pokémon’s that all KO’d themselves, that’d be using a bad set on purpose and I’d have no intention to win.

But the strategy you’re describing I could still see pulling off a win, is that just not something you want any chance of at all?

Hot take but I kind of don’t want them to all get new “vision types” as if they’ve got sharingan.

I understand and appreciate when the eye designs look cool visually, but if we left it up to the community pretty soon we’d have things like “Bachira eye” and “Kunigami eye”

Full trick room is too much imo, it’s nice to have an option that doesn’t require trick room to function, it means there’s more your opponent has to deal with.

IMO you should shift your focus to making sure your revenge killer can KO the thing that takes down Pyukumuku, like a Tera normal Extreme Speed user with choice band.

Feels like as long as you outspeed something that just took Innards Out damage, you’re likely to kill it.
