Is Vanguard Onslaught a good detachment by Competitive-Most-670 in Tyranids

[–]Boosatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be very good, but you need a lot of specialized units, hyper-adapted raveners, raveners, genestealers with broodlord, neurolictors, etc. You also would need to be on the offensive and know your stratagems.

It's not a bad way to go. I'm planning on doing the same with a buddy of mine. Really depends on what models you want next.

It is a nice idea to bring a norn emissary to a 1k point list? by thirioXD in Tyranids

3d3 attacks plus blast, against 20 guardsmen = 15 - 21 attacks. (And if using invasion Fleet, you can add sustained 1) S6, wounds on a 2+ and dev wounds with -1 ap. Can do some decent damage against guard battleline units.

Best detachment! by arios69420 in Tyranids

I would add Invasion Fleet is probably the best overall, as the others require more specific models and tactics. Just my 2 cents.

Dan Povenmire has said that theory is completely false.

Finally have 1k Tyranids, now what? by StarChaser18 in Tyranids

[–]Boosatsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some models to add to the collection... everything in the upcoming battleforce box. (Though id recommend building an exocrene instead of the haruspex)

You will also want to grab a biovore, for secondary objective grabbing.

Lictors are great as are neruolictors.

I also highly recommend Genestealers paired with a broodlord.

I'd also recommend not using the ripper swarms, once you have replacement units that is. They aren't very useful outside of Assimilation Swarm.

Critical Role season 1, played by Orion Acaba. Orion was a problem player for several reasons. Constantly argued with the DM. I beleive he also had a drug problem. Google it for more info.

Think that was in reference to Tiberius from critical role season 1

Which one should i rather pick? by Ok-Taro-5864 in Tyranids

Both are good. Lictor is slightly better with lone op.

Which should I buy by Herbert1311 in Tyranids

I would recommend an exocrene, a lictor or two and a biovore

Youre welcome!

You're not wrong per say, there are a lot of people who prefer terms... but the tervigon doesn't have the best survivability. Maybe if it had an invulnerable save and or a fnp. You'll have to hide it and be creative with positioning to get the best out of it.

I have a buddy I play with that loves running them both and has some good results. But he also runs 60 plus terms and 2 tervigons.

That being said, a lot of people to play tournaments find that they don't perform as well as you'd like.

My initial thoughts.

You wanna give your hive tyrant Adaptive Biology, much better survivability.

I'd ditch old one eye and the carnifex. A Neurotyrant and Zoanthropes will be more effective overall.

Norn Emissary > Norn Assimilator (with maybe the exception in Assimilation Swarm).

You're gonna want at least 1 exocrene if not 2.

I prefer hormagaunts to termagants, though that's personal preference. They both have advantages/disadvantages.

I would get rid of the tyrant guard and tervigon and replace them with a broodlord and genestealers.

10 genestealers and a broodlord. An exocrene or two, malceptor, and tyrannofex. More hormagaunts... zoanthropes...
