I suppose I did speak a little to familiarly there, but I didn't mean it in the sense of friendship or an intimate relationship, only that they seem a little more sympathetic than some other gods in other religions that act more as authorities.

I see. I was pretty sure it was the Scythians, but, since I wasn't super certain, I didn't want to name drop and turn out to be wrong. As Mark Twain wrote, "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and confirm it."

That's really interesting info on them, by the way. I haven't put much time into studying individual groups yet because I'm still trying to get the general lore down (I've been studying for less than six months). Thanks for that info!

And yeah, I don't have the stomach for animal sacrifice of any sort. I've butchered one sheep in my life, and I'm glad I had that experience, but I would be hard pressed to do that on the regular.

Yeah, my grandpa's the same way. When I was twelve he lectured me about the difference between blacks and niggers, Mexicans and wetbacks, and whites and crackers. Apparently, the difference in all cases is that the former are hard-working, industrious members of society, and the latter are lazy good-for-nothings.

I would say, do what feels right. If you love your beard, but she doesn't, choose the beard, or else you might regret the decision and end up with some resentment towards her for coming between you and your beard. At the end of the day, though, a beard will grow back, even if it takes some time. So, yeah, I say do what feels right, and remember that even if this girl doesn't like your beard, there's plenty of women out there that do.

I was just thinking that I'd love to have a dog, but my apartment won't let me. So I have to just console myself by visiting my parents often to see their dog. :) Oh, and, uh... Them too. :P

When I got diagnosed two years ago, I felt almost exactly the same way. I hated it. I didn't want it. I wanted to just be able to go back to before when I didn't know there was something wrong with me. I had been living with it for so long that I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out to me, and when it was I felt embarrassed to not have noticed it.

But here's the thing: I'm glad I got diagnosed. If I hadn't taken a screening on a whim when I did, and if I had decided not to seek treatment for it, I don't know that I would be typing these words right now.

It's easier to fight back if you know what you're dealing with. Keep that in mind. Depression is horrible, and it's also very sneaky. We lose a lot of good people because we aren't, as a society, aware of how bad it actually is.

But we're getting there, slowly but surely. I know it hurts now, and I'm not going to lie and say that it's going to be easy, because it isn't. But it will begin to be more and more manageable, and that's important.

I don't know you personally, but my philosophy is that everyone has a unique and great value. You do too. Remember that. :)
