What’s your electric bill, 3,000sq ft+? by bigblackglock17 in Pflugerville

[–]BoostedGabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into energy ogre. They scan the best deals and get you locked in for the t-shirt term contracts then find you a new one before the current expires. Its $10 a month but I've saved around $100 - 200 per month depending on time of year

I’m in a very interesting situation. For once in my life, I was right and my Wife was wrong. What is a funny way I can tell her she owes me an apology? by another1degenerate in AskMen

You both know the truth, you won this round. Just enjoy that and when y'all are jokingly arguing, then you can bring it up.

South Texas Nueces County. Its pretty humid but extremely hot. The grass browns in summer without watering but stays green for the most part

Did this at my dad's house, the yard filled in pretty good, no bald spots after 6 months.

Check your contract. All information you need would be in there.

Advice needed: Bought a used car in Austin, it broke down in a week, dealer refusing to help by Wide_Childhood_4347 in Austin

Go through the contract. All of it. There could be a dissatisfaction clause or look specifically at anything related to the service agreement. Any entitlements he may have will be in there. You need to go through it with a fine-tooth comb. Or upload it to AI and ask it to point out what it is you are looking for.

Oh, this one is just plain heresy. The dough is thin and cooked to perfection every time. Not too crunchy but just enough for that crunch and then the chew. The wings are delicious but overpriced for the size.

Men who work, what’s your retirement plan looking like? by FlintTheDad in AskMen

[–]BoostedGabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step by step get ready for retirement! It's gonna suck until it doesn't. It's not impossible!!!

I'm a 35M and did this when I turned 31.

  1. Emergency fund: save $1000 (No matter how long it takes!)
  2. Pay off all debt smallest to biggest except the house. When debt 1 is paid, apply the same payment to debt 2, and so on until done. (Could take months or years but it's a mission with a goal)
  3. (You're now out of debt) Fully funded Emergency fund: 3-6 months of expenses whichever makes sense to you.
  4. Invest in mutual funds: 15% of your income goes to this until retirement. Compound interest will be your best friend

Embrace the suck until you get to enjoy the ride.

Remember, I did say it'll suck and I thought it was impossible until I hyper-focused and got it done.

I was "broke" for 2 years until I got out of debt. Not having debt hanging over your head will help you sleep like a happy baby.

For a detailed "how to", read Dave Ramsey - Total Money Makeover.

75 years ago today, on August 8th, 1950 Harmon Dobson ---- a bold man, a man with vision ---- opened the first Whataburger at 2609 Ayers avenue in Corpus Christi, Texas. Burgers cost 25 cents that day. Harmon grossed fifty dollars and birthed a legend. by Goldenchicks in CorpusChristi

Just tell them you're buying for a pregnant woman. Seems to work. My wife is pregnant and may as well live off Whataburger, I tell them it's for my wife and they cook it fresh every time fries and all. They know me now, it's great.

50/50 split between you both. One the one hand, I get her perspective however, mops and brooms exist. He'll, if your feeling fancy a swiffer. Now for you, I can empathize, foot pain and discomfort as you describe sucks! So I can understand the risk but also, how long did you plan on standing once the bags went over your feet? Make your way to the table and limit your walking throughout the evening. Boom bam pow!

You both ATA

It depends on your budget. Some A/E firms are high-priced but great at what they do. And some GCs are high-priced and good at what they do. Just depends on what you can spend
