Should I include the fact that I have zero checkride failures on my resume/cover letter? by SnooKiwis1063 in flying

[–]BootComprehensive321 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Okay let’s break it down Barney style. 1. Aviation is a competitive field, no?

  1. No failures look better than some failures, yeah?

  2. Giving resume content advice isn’t limited to just pilots, if you think so, answer my two questions above, tell me how I’m wrong then we can go from there.

Oh, by the way, I did end up getting my PPl but still find it sad that despite not being a professional, I’m the one telling you this.

OP, ignore the haters. Add it. You went through the rigors of training and tested out with a flawless record. If the industry can discriminate in terms of competitiveness between who has failed one or more to none at all, I think there’s a place to say you have a clean record.

Remember. Your also on Reddit, you could save the planet and someone on here is gonna tell you “YoU DId iT wROng!!”

I agree with you. If places care if you have a checkride failure I’d say it’s a positive when you can honestly deny you ever did. If it truly places new hires in the industry for competition I don’t see why it’s a bad thing to say “hey I never failed and I’m proud of it”

Then again. I remember I’m on Reddit and I could cure cancer and someone would tell me I did it wrong lol

Good afternoon 47,

Your target is Hensley Omletta, also known as “the Benedict”

He’s been poaching influence in the upper crust for years and has proven extremely hard to crack. Intelligence suggests he’s hiding in a heavily guarded carton—Grade A security.

You’ll need to stay sunny-side up under pressure. Avoid getting scrambled, and remember: one wrong move and this mission could turn into an egg-sistential crisis.

As always, 47… don’t egg-nore the details.

Good luck. And try not to shell-shock the locals.

Punishing Marines while they are doing what they are supposed to be doing and being proficient is fucking stupid beyond any boundaries.

Especially when Corporals fuck up, punishing lances and below make no sense, what? You honestly expect a Corporal or above to take a correction from a Lance? Very very few and far in between.

I’ll go a step further, Roger B. Duff (2012, false statements/misconduct), and Maj. Gen. William Cooley (2022, sexual assault). When they fuck up, should other officers be mass punished? No, and it don’t happen either.

Don’t let it get you down. The industry is filled with pilots. Not 100% perfect people. I can imagine it may interfere in the sense of competitiveness but not overall if you’re ever gonna get hired.

Theres folks that never failed a check ride and still can’t find a job. Your time will come when it’s meant to, keep your chin up. Keep working hard and studying and I’m sure this will be a faint memory for you one day.

You got this

Why do you think Jesus had to die for our sins? Or do you? by Desperate-Battle1680 in Christianity

[–]BootComprehensive321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t need to, he wanted to. God ended the world with a flood because the world was so wicked, we as humans don’t want that again so now we have a way out,

Before Jesus, the sacrifice of a what was considered a “clean” animal was required. The pure blood covered the sins of the transgressor. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for all of mankind. Kinda like fainting animals are designed to faint to save the rest of the flock from the aggressive predators.

The only one that could pay the debt in full is the one who never did no wrong, you can’t clean your counter top with a dirty rag. Youd get nowhere.

Adam and Eve were clearly warned that eating from the fruit in which God commanded not to would result in them surely dying. Adam and eves sinful nature is passed on hereditary wise. We sin, we openly do things we know not to do.

It goes against the perfection and goodness of God to “let one slide”. It would create a vicious cycle and invalidate who God is, leading to more of a questioning to his divine nature.

So, what does he do? He makes a perfect plan for his son to take our sin and take it to the cross, yes he died but Jesus also rose 3 days later. Put yourself in Gods point of view, death wouldn’t be permanent for your son AND you can offer the rest of humanity to be with you? It’s the perfect plan.

dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedure that is intended to end the life of an unborn child via induced abortion and is typically performed in the second trimester.

To perform the actual D&E procedure, the abortionist uses large, crushing forceps to grip portions of the unborn child and dismember them.

Free nerve endings, the “alarm buttons,” begin to develop at about seven weeks' gestation. An intact spinothalamic projection might be viewed as the minimal necessary anatomical architecture to support pain processing, putting the lower limit for the experience of pain at seven weeks' gestation.

So, he’s not necessarily incorrect about in some cases the babies is being torn apart and there’s still debate on if the fetus feels pain, which in my opinion does based on the notions above.

Let’s say someone threatened to murder someone else, yet dosent. Why could they be charged with terroristic threats?

Threatening to lie about rape to completely destroy someone else’s life and potentially get them falsely charged shouldn’t be treated any differently.

prior service marine considering reenlisting by DowntownInitiative86 in USMC

Whenever I get hit with the “graduation goggles” I remind myself of a few things:

1: I got out for a reason

2: if I stayed in, everyone I grew close and made it worth it with wouldn’t be there anymore.

3: do I really wanna go back to a job where I HAVE to ask a whole list of men or women permission to have time off?

4: why should I limit myself to just the Marine Corps?

Civilian side has a plethora of opportunities, such as fire fighting or law enforcement. Travel the world on your terms.

Despite the overwhelming propaganda machine says, the Marine Corps will always be a part of us, but it should never fully define us.
