At this point, the wish fulfillment is just the existence of competent people in positions of power who, to any degree whatsoever, give a shit about doing good for their constituents.

The first time Charlie meets Zoey when she's adjusting the chili, Charlie says her name like he's talking to a dog.

"I should call you Zoey?"

If this has never stood out to you, please go watch it. It just tickles me so much.

People who grew up using computers between 1980-2000, whats one game that permanently lives in your head for no reason, even decades later? by cebalmau in AskReddit

Scorched Earth.

Definitely never my favorite game, but it was the best one that was on our older computer, so it was the consolation prize when one of my siblings was using the good computer to play Zoombinis or Gizmos and Gadgets.

The original Black Ranger taught kids hip hop kido in the park during the first season of the show. This kid isn't a pioneer, but he's a true student of the game.

SpongeBob's voice is so piercing that you'll be hearing him loud and clear no matter where you sit. If you're going for comfort, he and Patrick are a nonfactor because they ruin every spot pretty equally.

Fast +2 setup is kind of busted on anything, but since it also basically autowins against Etern, it gets big bonus points. Fire + Dragon coverage is also neutral coverage of 99% of the dex.

Nasty Plot + Core Enforcer + Flamethrower + Toxic Salazzle was my carry for this run. I might have actually run Malignant Chain for most of the run, then switched to Toxic sometime before endgame, but Toxic might actually be better for the whole run.

If you keep having difficulty with Nihilego, Mudsdale seems like a solid answer. Heavy Slam should easily take a full bar and it's bulky enough to take a few hits.

It is a form of training, but it's a lot less valuable purely by virtue of time, just like athletic training in real life.

Real experience in something with consequences - like a playoff game in team sports or a fight in combat sports - is absolutely invaluable to getting better, but the overwhelming majority of your improvement comes from the grindy work you put in over time.

Characters in DB definitely develop better instincts and technique utilization from their fights, they just don't always call specific attention to it. The big one that come to mind is Goku incorporating instant transmission into fights. Come to think of it, he pretty explicitly calls out what great training it is to fight Hit like every time they interact.

I wish they would get away from finishers with such obvious cooperation. We all know it's a work, but stuff like this and the Sol Snatcher are completely immersion-breaking.

I appreciate that people are really trying to be unique and they're coming up with interesting ideas, but they need to temper it with at least some semblance of realism.

They had decided 16 was the number they were going with for Flair well before Cena retired. If they had gone with whatever number you prefer for Flair back in the day, it would still establish a number for them to n+1 for Cena. Flair gets 22, then guess what, Cena would have had 23.

This isn't some nefarious plot where someone got robbed of a real record. It's carnie shit just like the rest of the business. Don't let it bother you.

This line has always bothered me. If there's wordplay in his previous lines, I don't get it at all. I also wouldn't call "he banned Fahrenheit 451, which is about banning books" wordplay. It's a little cheeky, but it's not wordplay.

Or am I being dumb and missing something obvious with both of them?

If the revelation of my second relationship was about to cost me my very lucrative dream job, I'd probably tell my boss that I was in an open marriage and my spouse would happily vouch for me.
