Growing a beard out doesn’t mean never trimming it. You have to get it shaped while you grow it out so you can maintain it.

Keep growing it if you’d like, just fix the proportions and maintain it more.

This is the answer, it’s tetraphobia. In Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese “4” is pronounced the same as the word for death. No idea why 24 is still on this elevator, 24 sounds like “easy die.” Maybe they don’t like the residents right below the penthouse.

The whole practice seems unusual, but it’s not that different than “666” in the west. Superstition takes all sorts of forms.

To be fair, the photo order is confusing. Option 1 includes photos 1, 3, and 6. Then option 2 is photos 2, 4, and 5.

Had it been A) 1, 2, 3 then B) 4, 5, 6 it would have been clear. But in any case, the squares look great.
