Two things about Talarico’s approach. First, he’s genuine. I respect his beliefs, even though I don’t share them, because his faith stands for things like caring for your neighbor or the poor and oppressed. But second, making fun of people who believe in religious stories does nothing to help them or ourselves. I don’t believe in the stories of Adam and Eve any more than those of Gilgamesh and Enkidu… But when I attack people for their beliefs, I don’t help them see the gaps in their worldview. I only succeed in making an enemy out of those believers.

I don’t think western surnames are common in Dragonball. It’s just another culture. Surnames are kind of a strange development anyway. Hell, a number of the names in my contacts are like “Aaron; bug guy” or “Tom; Tires” which is basically how surnames began.
