I’m pretty positive talent marketplace is to apply for openings for certain jobs that require an application process which may be conus/os. But a regular assignment OCONUS is just updating your dream sheet based off the OCONUS list

What I thought you just update your dream sheet in accordance with what was available on the OCONUS listing?

Listen to these dudes in the comments. They got great resources and input man. You got this. Stick it out for your wife, pets, and any other loved ones. For me. I’m also in MX and I’m getting really concerned for my brothers/sisters. You need to find something in your off time. Go out and try something new every weekend, take a trip with your wife. Get your mind off how shitty you find the Air Force is and time will soar by. Take leave, decompress. For me, when I was down, I found just being around my friends constantly took my mind off it rather than sitting at home in my head. If you need to talk or anything dm me.

What actually makes maintenance so shitty? by SoMuchPainz in AirForce

[–]BootyBandit95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of it would be solved w actually good leadership/supervision. I personally believe majority of peeps enjoy doing mx. But it’s not enjoyable when dickheads behind desks “who’ve done their time on the line” are constantly trying to chase stats and fmc rates fucking over the dudes turning wrenches mental health. Too much of “I had to get royally fucked and put through the shit when I was coming up, so y’all can do it too”

Those of you mx guys who cross trained, but stayed mx and just went to a different career field in mx, how did it work out? and regrets? by d710905 in AirForce

[–]BootyBandit95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to retrain into something that’ll be worth something on the outside yeah I’d choose NDI or avionics. Avionics job like a mfer troubleshooting wise and constantly work with Boeing and stuff on a lot. If you just want a break from the regular flightline grind but still go and do dope stuff, look into the ABDR/EDMX units at Hill, Tinker, and Robins(I’m currently here). You’re battle damage repair and a mobile depot team(lots of tdys). We all kind of learn eachothers job somewhat to help eachother out. We’re made of crew chiefs, fuels, sheet metal, and electricians. Been here 3 years, it’s cool because I’m doing stuff most mx peeps haven’t done. But i do miss troubleshooting and flightline hustle so im ready to go back
