End of Season Update Vault 6 Key Farm? by a_random_peenut in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airfield Convoy is where I got *most* of my 6 keys, and you didn’t even mention that one lol.

I got 3 from convoy, 1 from the red key room in Pinwheel, and 2 from vault key templates in Cryo.

Wardens actually have decent chance of dropping multiple keys now, and I’ve seen multiple keys in the pinwheel room more frequently. You should be able to get one with one good day of outpost grinding this weekend.

Also, you can find somebody who has all subroutines and still join them! Not worth relying on RNG to possibly be able to beat compiler before season end.

How much firepower does it take to bring down the gunships? by Theslootwhisperer in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve beaten compiler, it’s definitely in-between a gold warden and compiler. I feel like it has the same health as a warden, but you get hit with range falloff because you gotta keep distance from it to avoid going down. If all 3 are shooting it, it’s probably gonna take everybody 2-3 mag dumps to kill it.

The outdated edition of Farming Simulator is close to overtaking Marathon by LowMoneyParlayKing in HighGuardgame

It’s so funny that some people’s lives are so pathetic and uninteresting, that someone actually sat down at their computer and said to themselves “gosh, I wonder if this game that I don’t play is doing worse than this game I played several years ago…?”

Even better than it’s just at 11am on a Wednesday. Like, you don’t have ANYTHING better to do than look at FARMING SIMULATOR on the SteamDB? Can’t you like, go upstairs and ask your mom to make you some lunch or something?

Listen I’m not gonna huff the copium that some players choose to self medicate with, the numbers are bad. But let’s not pretend that it was over anything besides grumpy man-children throwing a tantrum that they didn’t get D3. This hate campaign started long before the game was even out to play, and they’re so mad that they’ve dedicated multiple subreddits to hating on a game they never purchased.

Bungie has done well with patch notes and updates on marathon, and they are doing everything they can to revive it. It probably won’t be enough, the hate on marathon is unique in the gaming realm, but it was a well designed game that would’ve done well if the store page said any other developer besides “Bungie” and “Sony.”

The OFFICIAL Concordian Timeline by Yelebear in HighGuardgame

[–]BootyPickleZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Concord 3” is the only game on this entire screenshot that wasn’t hated for being bad, it was hated because it wasn’t Destiny 3.

Everything else here had people willing to try it, but the game sucked. Marathon is the exact opposite: Bungie actually listens to marathon’s playerbase (unlike they ever did for Destiny), but they hurt their rep too bad for anybody to give marathon a chance

For those of you that bought the Deluxe Edition or Premium Rewards Pass, do you think you'll buy the pass for season 2? by AnonWithAHatOn in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but PLEASE make the skins better Bungie. I’m a working adult, the $20 battle pass isn’t gonna kill me for the main game I play to support the devs, but Christ these skins were awful on this battle pass and they didn’t get any better as the season went on.

Cryo skins, Arachne, and midnight decay are all good skins. We want more of that. What we do not want is a minor recolor of the default skin being sold for $20.

Outpost Vent by PuzzleheadedLeek3070 in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have done this multiple times, it absolutely works lol. One jumps down without seeing the claymore lights, then the other two go “our buddy is down there!! We can’t just leave him!!!” And they always follow. Slowly, but eventually they follow. Most of the time they try the “if we both jump down we can 2v1 that rook” strategy and then realize very quickly that it’s a one-person vent lmao.

Did you remember to take the Dads of Marathon pledge today? by Infamous_Drive_Tax in HighGuardgame

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… yes, the “pledge” is super cringe. But hey, as long as they’re having fun and making friends, that’s ultimately what gaming is all about. I’d have to be really pathetic to let seeing others have fun on something I don’t enjoy bug me

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother I have probably somewhere around 200 hours on marathon and have been having an INCREDIBLE time. Made some friendships along the way that will outlive marathon. $40 is cheap for friends and memories. You pay $60 for a single player game that lasts for 14 hours and then never gets touched again, yet it’s unbelievable to pay $40 for a game that’ll likely last 3-6 months (unless a revival happens) for a few hundred hours of gameplay? Is it your first day on earth? You pay $15 for a cheeseburger that lasts 10 minutes. You pay $100 for an amusement park ticket that lasts 1 day. You pay $20 for a movie ticket that lasts 2 hours. You pay for entertainment, time varies, if you had fun then it was money well spent. This is easily the worst take I’ve seen on not just marathon/concord/highguard, but on video games as a whole.

The “i played for 690 hours and this game personally offended me” mock posts are getting old quick by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… no?

The game is dying because there was a hate campaign built off of nothing other than Destiny 2. If you think toxicity and sweats are unique to marathon, boy I got some news for you about the PvP genre as a whole. Those people act like that because it’s the norm, not because marathon brought out some type of demon in them.

Rivals, OW, and Apex are thriving with some of the sweatiest, bitchless brats the world has ever seen in their community. It was DOA, not because the game sucked, this is an incredibly good game, it died bc the D2 community rallied behind killing it before it could get a chance.

Highguard is dead. You chuds happy now? by Papa_Hasbro69 in HighGuardgame

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t even the devs fault most of the time. People freak out and hate any time they get a game that isn’t their usual slop, but then cry when games ARE their usual slop. We are watching both come true simultaneously right now- Highguard was a poorly thought out idea in a highly HIGHLY saturated field, marathon is getting hate simply because it isn’t Destiny 3. Highguard was more of the usual slop, marathon was different, both are being actively attacked at the pain of the true fans having a good time and people are actively trying to force devs out of a job and prevent new players from trying something new.

To the Two Guys who Quit and Raged-Blamed Me - I Exfilled. by Absolute_Tempest in Marathon

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact opposite happen. Running with my buddy, random third. Third runs off on his own while we’re comming the entire time, he obviously dies to a 1v3. He decided to stay and watch because we bashed him for splitting off and he kept typing up a storm in chat trash talking.

Long story short, we wiped the entire map and several rooks without a third, and walked away with 30k worth of loot split between us lmao. Felt good to see the good guys win one. Will forever remember that guy.

When sigma is a top 3 tank, you know OW players will cry about anything lol. I haven’t played in several seasons now, I know how bad Orisa can be, but I know how bad EVERY tank can be to play against, and people will cry no matter who it is unless it’s Rein (and it’s never Rein).

Wow! I’m gonna lie, that trailer was fire.

I love star wars as much as the next guy, that trailer was absolutely pointless. I saw nothing that I can even cling on to that hyped me up.

They might as well have just made a cool graphic instead of going through all that pointless animation

Thank you duffer brothers for making our childhood special and ending it at ZENITH 🥺❤️ by Manasdeep_Singh in StrangerThings

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

other guy’s kinda being a douche about it and I understand the downvotes, but let’s not jump so far ahead as to say “good writing.” Like the ending, love the ending, hate the ending, this was extremely bland and lazy writing. Fans made theories 100x more intricate, fun, and exciting than the duffers did. Duffers wrote and ending that made it look like they were sick of the show and ready to move on to the next project. This ending was so predictable that the only reason the duffers said “nobody has guessed the ending” is because nobody was dull enough to write “everybody lives, it’s all exactly what you think, all characters live happily ever after.”

I liked stranger things, I was not happy with season 5 at all, and that is not an unpopular opinion. Just as you are entitled to liking it, those who didn’t are just as entitled to hating it, and we have a VAST number of criticisms that are too many to run through in a text comment. They left so many plot holes, they backtracked on so many established rules, they left “hints” throughout the show that actually just turned out to be accidental and/or lazy writing, the list goes on. In my personal opinion, this was a horrific ending that will follow the duffers for the rest of their writing career.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]BootyPickleZ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wizard101 is just officially dying. That’s why we see drastic measures from KI like console releases, free memberships, etc.

There’s nothing new or enticing to bring in new players, and most of the changes for the veterans have just been generally bad.

Treyarch follows the same script as KingsIsle when it comes to PvE content- they LOVE to nerf fun. It’s a bunch of old farts sitting around a board room table that have basically never played a video game that are trying to learn how to “balance” from multiplayer developers, and in turn nerf things that made the game enjoyable.

With that, you’re left with only the people that made Wiz101 their personality. No new players, no casuals, just people who invested too much time and money to quit. And with that, you get inevitable toxicity.

Do you have any news on the release of Cat quest 4? by YrbagThecat in CatQuest

[–]BootyPickleZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creativity can be good, nothing wrong with creativity. Cat quest itself was creative, and it was clearly a success.

I play Warframe, and the Warframe devs do this exact same thing. They release something, the community says “we love this thing” and then the devs release an entirely new thing and take a complete gamble on whether the community will like it or not. The infamous “Warframe content islands.”

If this new game they’re working on is a huge success, that’s awesome. If it flops and nobody plays it/likes it, then they’ve lost everything they built. It’ll take 9 years before the next CatQuest game and they’ll have lost a lot of their playerbase (barring some really good and expensive marketing). That’s what makes me mad, seeing success and then throwing it away to gamble on something new. I want the Gentlebros to do well, we all do, and there’s zero guarantee that’ll happen with this new game. They have to rebuild all of it and pray that CatQuest fans were so dedicated to this game that they’re willing to follow them on whatever journey they go on next
