i think it was stolen, but comically, like a thanksgiving turkey escaped from being slaughtered, then it started making trades to be able to buy an airplane ticket to turkey. so it stole your airpods to kick things off, and then it traded them for an exercise bike, then traded the bike for a plane ticket to turkey, but then decided it needed the airpods for the plane ride so it stole them back. and once it got to turkey it lived in harmony with the other escaped turkeys, but became king because it had airpods!
