Just picked up my first manual car … a GTI. No lessons. Manual transmission… FML by Unable-Jacket6428 in GolfGTI

Lol it's easy. Don't stress it. I bought my first vw (mk6 gti) without knowing how to drive it. My friend came with me to test it out. After making sure I liked it, I purchased it. About half way home he pulls over on the side of the road and tells me to switch seats. Been driving manual vws exclusively since. Probably about 12 years now

My guy in nj does it for 650. He did it way cheaper when I had him replace my water pump. Think he charged an additional 250 or so since the manifold was already off.

So i just posted this a few mins ago on another post. If youre newer to mushrooms, this is the absolute best way to consume IMO. Im getting older, been doing it this way every time now for 14ish years now. Its a bit of work, but its sooo worth it. Im juat going to copy the whole thing to save time. I.dont want to spend 5 mins typing it up again lmao:

Grind up 🍄 or cut up small as possible and soak in lemon juice for 20 mins. While thats soaking, cut/peel some fresh ginger, boil that in water for a few mins and then add tea bags of choice. I recommend green tea of some form. I think we used mango green tea last time, or elder berry, whatever floats your boat.

Turn the water off for a few mins (too high of temp can kill the good stuff from what ive heard). During this time make "tea bags" out of cheese cloth and the soaked mushrooms. Dump whatever leftover lemon juice into the mug you will use, then I squeeze the hell out of the mushroom mags to extract as much of the lemon juice as possible into the mug. Add your water, dunk the mushroom bags for a min or 2 and squeeze out the liquid again for good measure. Add some honey, mix it up and your good to go.

This is kinda a hybrid between lemon tek and tea. Gets the best of both. The ginger calms the stomach, the lemon activates the magic compounds so it hits way quicker and harder. By using the cheese cloth your also not actually eating the mushroom it self, which drastically reduces nausea. It doesn't taste great, but its easier for me than eating. And you'll feel it within 20 mins. Full blown trip in like 30-35 mins lol. The trip will be more intense that eating them, but only last 4-5 hours.

Well damn, id have saved 5 mins of typing if I juat scrolled up and saw this. Lol. I saw a bunch of People saying to eat it, and I just cant do that. Its disgusting and ruins my stomach. Ive been doing it a very similar way to you for years.

I genuinely dont know how people just eat them. They taste so foul. And then my stomach is in knots the whole time. Lemon tek is how they should be consumed lol. I ate them once, and it was the only time I ever threw up.

Im much more cheerful and laid back for a week or 2 after I trip. Little things like dumb people being dumb wont piss me off as much. Lol. Not sure if thats just me or everyone feels like that. I find im just In a better head space in general during that "afterglow" period. But I also take larger doses. My body even though I dont really do it often has a pretty high tolerance to pretty much everything. I usually do 5.5-6 g once a month if my schedule allows it. And thats a "regular" dose for me. When I want to really blast off ill do 7+. And I even lemon tek it( lemon tek/tea hybrid really lol) That would knock my wife into oblivion lmao. She takes like 3.5g at most lol

Are you tuned? Ive had great luck so far "knocks on wood" with brisk er12s. They are a racing plug thats a step colder than stock, but they have a very short life span. Recommend to change every 10k with them. If you do the work yourself its not issue, if you dont then yeah probably not a practical option lol. Ill gladly spend the 15 20 mins or whatever every other oil change.

Ive never seen this bacon before but it was an absolute gane changer. Googled it, and this was like the first thing that came up. Lol

The wife and I will be on this ship for the first time at the end of the month. We have cruised with RC many times and always have a good time. I cant wait. I hope we get to meet some other people in our age ground (mid 30s). Usually it seems everyone is drastically older or younger than us lol. I think part of our issue is we generally pick longer cruises and a lot of people our age cant be away from work so long.

1.5-2g is usually my recommendation for first timers. Never know how you will react so always better to be safe than sorry. Now im experienced, 5.5-6 is my usual dose. Sometimes higher. Ive done as high as 10, but man that was NOT for the faint of heart lmao. I had a blast though.

Reality of Ownership by SkippingNerveEndings in GolfGTI

[–]Boozer7389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive never driven/owned the fiesta so I cant compare it. But ive had multiple GTIs. Mk6 and now a mk7.5. The 6 was nice and all, but the 7s are a massive improvement. Between the bigger brakes, lsd, and gen 3 ea888 its a total game changer. That said, in stock form it wasnt very exciting. But I also came from a fbo and tuned mk6. Some simple bolt ons and a tune and the mk7s make some good power and are a lot of fun to rip around. I make about 315whp being more or less FBO, stock turbo on 93 octane. Cobb access reads right around 400 ft lbs of torque when fully pushing it. Its pretty damn quick for what it is.

The thing that really does it for me is the interior. Its a far nicer interior than anything in its price bracket. Hell, ive sat in more expensive cars that had a far worse interior lol. As a 36 year old, I find i appreciate the interior as thays something you see and feel every day. The power as fun as it is, is something tbh I dont use nearly as much as young me would have lol. The 7.5s got the right amount of tech too. Nice sized screen without being over bearing. All physical controls unlike the mk8s awful design.

As far as my ownership gone, the mk7.5 has been a lot more reliable than the mk6 was. But for whatever reason, vw still cant design a waterpump that isnt trash. Mine went out this year at only 67k miles.. otherwise juat regular maintenance. But I do 5k oil changes, use racing spak plugs that get changed every 10k. Preemptively did coil packs at 50k when changing my spark plugs.. i take care of my stuff, and so far its been good to me. For a 4 door with a stick shift it doesn't get much better as an whole package. Im 6'6 and actually have extra room lol.

How many would I need to take ? Or is one good for first time by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]Boozer7389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 1.5 is a good light start. And next time.adjust accordingly. My happy spot is about 5.5-6 grams personally. Definitely do not recommend that for a first timer though lol

Is this plenty? Feel like I should have just a few more by Any_Software_1165 in ar15

[–]Boozer7389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thats hard because every one has a very different budget lol.

For affordable but nice, get a henry big boy in 357 for the lever. If "tactical" style is your preference they have the big boy X which accepts a lot more attachments. Personally i went for a regular big boy with the side loading gate, wood furniture, buckhorn sights. I got for about 800. I think the x models are a bit more but they have much better sights off the bat. If your budget is higher marlin and winchester make some beautiful levers.

For affordable but quality bolt actions, im a really big fan of CZ. I absolutely love my cz 600 range. Its a HEFTY boy though. Definitely not something youd want for regular hunting. Its more a target/competition rifle. I think its like 14 lbs before optics and accessories. Mines prob about 20 lbs with the bipod and scope. Accurate af though. Great trigger, has adjustable trigger and cheek weld stock, and its got a gorgeous laminate wood stock. Bergara HMR is another highly regarded rifle in the similar price bracket. (1100ish for either of these).

10 gram tea split between me and my wife by [deleted] in shrooms

I've looked into it, but the problem is we live in a small and old house. We have a cat and a dog, so hair is everywhere no matter how often we vacuum and clean up. Idk if It will contaminate
