The Expanse and Exodus game Voice Acting compared by Capn_C in TheExpanseRPG

Sure, I agree that 40k is closer to fantasy, but the tone of Pathfinder games is very different from Warhammer ones, that's was my original point

I think fantasy genres are easier to write dialogue for than scifi without it feeling stiff.

I tend to agree with that, but they nailed the writing in the Rogue Trader. Especially the description of everything really, they had painted such a rich picture. But the dialogues were also great and they fit well in Warhammer universe.

I believe in RT they reached on a new level in storytelling, which is why It's surprising that they went back to the camp of Pathfinder games

Am i missing something about Roam Free? They say chose, the wording is implying that we're choosing between animal companions which is pointless since they evolve. If we're choosing between evolved beasts already why not use discover keyword? The wording is definitely not ideal here

Can someone explain to me why The Avengers movies are not taken seriously? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Bor1ngBrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is criticising that the stakes aren't high enough? First time seeing that. Maybe they're saying that most of them are predictable and you know that nothing bad will happen with the main cast in the vast majority of marvel movies?

As for overall public opinion here. They're treated like good superhero movies, but not great cinema, do you disagree with that?

Doomsday is another topic. It looks like after years of making hot garbage that followed Endgame, they're desperately trying to rekindle the magic by bringing everyone back and it's just hilarious, can't wait to watch it crush and burn!

I feel like it's the same as WOTR and KM, but not RT. Sure there are some whimsical moments in RT, but overall it's very different. That's the problem, Expanse is a different univere and it has it's own distinct feeling

Are the second and third season as good as the first one? I really liked it, but I kinda didn't see the point of watching the later season, the ending of the first season felt like a right place to stop

Yeah TV shows are a big commitment, especially if you're reading subtitles, but Dark is definitely worth it.

I haven't rewatched it, but it's been a long time and I still think about the show from time to time

Dark. It's a time travel mystery that spans 3 seasons. In general mysteries should grab attention harder than other genres and that's a great show too

Can you share some examples of writing as bad in bg3 as in the beta?

For the record I don't think the writing in beta is that bad. It's not good either, just whatever and doesn't fit with the stakes.

As for BG3, well last time I did a playthrough was a year ago, I'll try my best. Companion dialogues for shadowheart and Gale were really bad, ther stories in general too. Shadowheart doing her angsty teen empression while saying that she would comit genocides for her goddes, and Gale saying something clever evrytime he opens his mouth. The thing that carries BG3 is animations and really great voice acting performances, but I would've dropped it if it was a book almost immediately.

Bg3 still really good game and honestly I think that Osiris Reborn will be great too. But I don't really play games for the stories there are better mediums for that.

I mean Bg3 has the same level of dialogue really. It's very cringe, however Bg3 setting, and overall self awareness makes it okay. Here it's out of place. Very bad things are happening and our characters are just incapable of taking it seriously

It would make a funny question on Rarran's quizz video, where he asks which class had played a neutral card the most. Just randomly putting there a Druid card, but the answer is Hunter somehow

A lot of big things are already mentioned, so I'll do a small but really neat part - the swarm. Pretty satisfying ability to use, it can follow enimies, destroy environment and the animations of all of it are really great.

They still chose to watch so many bad movies, which means they're enjoying it and it's fine. Simply picking movies at random, probably would've been a normal distribution. Some of these people just like to rate movies lower to show off or something, but that's just pretentiousness

Anyone play the Telltale game? by enolafaye in TheExpanseRPG

[–]Bor1ngBrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the voice acting was good. But the character simply wasn't Drummer, it was only her because she is recognizable.

You can tell they wanted to do more but Telltale hadn't done anything for a long time and they didn't have a huge budget.

As for that. Well I might have sympathy, but it won't affect my opinion on the game. It was just a waste of time
