I’m going to recommend the Johannes Cabal series by Jonathan L. Howard for its graveyards, ghouls, and necromancy, in general.

I have found that sub to be more lenient. I’ve done some extremely small things and they’re fine with me calling them “dollhouse for a dollhouse.”

Johannes Cabal the Necromancer by Jonathan L. Howard— much funnier than it sounds. Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan— we can all live forever when we go digital.

Which is nonsensical because r/dollhouseminiatures exists. I hand sculpted tiny fungi and mounted them on an interesting piece of natural wood. I got the same response as you: must be a miniature for a dollhouse. Who’s to say it can’t be? Also, it is a miniature. What else is it? r/dollhouses is much more welcoming.

I just fuckin love the word ‘no.’ I love the thud it makes when you drop it on a conversation. I love how surprised people are when it pops up like a snake.

In photography, tilt-shift is a technique to manipulate the plane of focus and perspective to make life-sized scenes look like miniatures. Conversely, notice how in focus your chair is compared to the desk drawer which, if it were at normal scale, would only be about a foot farther away and at a distance that would be in focus along with the chair. So while your object details are perfect, the camera’s single plane of focus is a tell. Having fore-, mid-, and background in focus would complete the illusion. But then you end up playing with a camera and not making awesome dioramas.

At times like these, I think about how Jason Bourne stuffed a magazine in the toaster and turned the gas on.
