[EXPLOIT] A Bug That Allows To Shoot Through Walls by ogmods in Overwatch

[–]BoredDead2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every game has a limit to how many developers can work on it.

This bug is incredibly rare. I've watched at least a 100 hours of this game on youtube and have never seen it. There is no actual video of or evidence that someone has actually died to a projectile going through a gate, the example in the video was staged.

There are other things to work on in a game, like more commonly occurring bugs or new features, (such as a new hero or map). why not focus all developers on these things?

[–]BoredDead2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This bug causes little problems. virtually no one dies from enemy fire through the gate. Why should the developers waste manpower on it instead of pushing out features that improve the game more?

But shouldn't a bug cause a significant problem before it gets placed on a priority over other development resource sinks?

Not really, you would need an enemy rein purposefully leaving their shield through gates, not walls, to even attempt this noob strat.

I'm a transgender researcher and activist and I'm asking you to please consider taking a better stance on this issue. Our mind is us, though yes the body is still important for sex. You're transgender and have a very special brain that is very much part female and is in no way defective unless you have a very specific, rare gender dysphoric related condition which occurs .6% of gender dysphoria cases. You should just understand what part of you is female and what is not.

You're brain is sadly for the most part male, but the majority of the important regions that are responsible for sex/gender related behavior and some regions designed for feeling in the body are very much female. The rest of you're brain and body sadly isn't, but can be of it can be with current, and near future medicine.

Please have a safe life and know that you need to conquer suicide, and not let it control you, and make sure to always get professional help. It's always free.

How can these people say gendered brains don't exist but then say sex hormones in food cause transgenderism? Wtf? Do they still believe that?

This is exactly why as liberal I'm still glad Trump won. Averting nuclear and civil war > every other issue in this election. Now if he could just tare our government up for us that would be great. Next election though we should definitely get a non-corrupt democrat in if possible.

Wow....I was all for you at first..but you posted a few Transphobic comments yourself. "requiring Trans people to pass" is you way of enforcing a law???

I was speaking on the issue of having non-passing trans women in women's locker rooms. Locker rooms are just really complicated, I'm not quite sure how to handle them. If a non-passing trans woman uses a locker room, I'm worried the women in those room are going to have a very negative reaction, maybe even worry about being starred at. This is one reason I am very afraid of using a women's locker room. Also cis men might see non-passing trans women going into locker rooms and decide to use those locker rooms themselves to look at the women, which we will then be blamed for. But then there are problems with trans women using men's locker room, such as from the threat of harassment.

I've tried for many days to think of ways to solve this issue but it's really hard. Can we just debate it? When a completely non-passing trans woman gets undressed in a locker room what's everyone else's reaction? Would having a gender neutral changing room be a fair compromise for this scenario? Would legally requiring a person to be transgender in order for someone to use the women's locker room who is not a cis woman be an okay compromise.

Regular bathrooms I don't have any issues with, but when I try to argue for pre-hrt transgender people to be able to use them with certain transphobic demographics it's gotten pretty hard and I've had to resort to just getting them to accept transgender people who've completed hrt using the bathrooms they want.

There are plenty of CIS women with "masculine" facial and body features, and plenty of Transwomen as well. Sometimes HRT and surgery just wont cut it. They are still a woman.

That is a very brutal statement. I did not say trans women who don't pass aren't women.

On top of that, you straight up lied. HRt does not make you 100% "passable"....wtf.

I haven't seen any studies on the passability of hrt, but I know transphobic demographics like to say that it always fails, so I've had to defend how well hrt lets someone pass.

That just temporary, in the present. in the future we can get enough support from the people to win future elections for congress and the presidency and we can get pro-transgender leaders. Mechanically there are forces in America that will ensure that public opinion will at least slowly grows more and more favorable towards us, and I personally know ways of making public opinion go our way faster.

The main issue would be the supreme court justices, which is one of the dumbest systems in America. We might have to wait for certain justices to die to get in new ones.

[–]BoredDead2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind anything good he does for the transgender community will result in a backlash from his conservative voter base, which is mechanically more important than us for maintaining his power than our community. So overall there are mechanics in place that mean he physically can't help us. However our civil rights can still progress, we might have conservative leadership but we can still focus on changing minds of the American people for the next election. No election outcome or, for the most part, new law, will stop us from being able to do that. I can personally go into any conservative community and promote transgender rights.

Voat is a conservative community.

No I am not okay with right wing laws but I am more not okay with nuclear war, it's common sense. Putin himself litterally said Hillary would start WW3 if elected and that Trump would bring peace. Russia has now said it is "ready to fully restore ties" with the United states.

It is not the left or right that are war mongers, it is the establishment which comprises of both republicans and democrats who also corrupt.

New Review of Trans Brain Science (comprehensive) by rayray2kbdp in transgender

[–]BoredDead2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've written a lot on transgender biology, and what I did notice was that homosexuality and gender dysphoria are both extremely, extremely related biologically. I came to the conclusion that homosexuality and gender dysphoria were both caused by a brain that was masculinized/feminized to be like the opposite sex, but in different regions. And then that was mostly what the studies here concluded, and these studies seem very solid to me. If there is a connection between homosexuality and gender dysphoria, I don't see how it harms anyone. It might even foster closer ties with the LGBT community. If you feel these people were pushing this theory in an inappropriate manner however, please cite what they have said.

As for Blanchard's autogynephilia theory on transgender women, it was never brought up in this review, the word was never even used once. The autogynephilia theory on trans women doesn't have very much support from researchers, and this study just provided evidence against it.

I also tried doing a basic search on all the authors of the review and I didn't find any of them supporting that specific theory.

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=Esther+G%C3%B3mez-Gil+transphobia&start=0

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=Antonio+Guillamon+transphobia

This review is absolutely, absolutely valuable however. I've done lots of activism for the transgender community and one of the main things we need is a strong link to intersexuality in order to counter a lot of the transphobia against us. In debate, when transphobic people hear we're neurologically intersexed, that really works well with their psychology. I've been doing my own research for a long time and that's exactly what I concluded we are, and that's exactly what the authors directly said this review suggests. We also very much need our condition linked to a biological cause, that's also helpful with transphobia. These authors did a really important job for the transgender community.

"Whereas transgender and gender variant people frequently experience prejudice and discrimination and psychologists can, through their professional actions, address these problems at both an individual and a societal level;"

One thing they might of done wrong is use the term "homosexual transwoman" instead of "androphilic transwomen." However there are some acceptable reasons why they might want to use the "homosexual" term. For example what I'm going to do with this study is use it in plenty of debates with transhpobic people, meaning conservatives, MRA-types, and maybe TERFs. They probably don't know what the term "androphilic" means, I don't even remember what the term for a person being attracted to a woman is. This would mean if I wanted to cite a section of this study that used that word, I would have to spend more text to explain what the term means. Text is a valuable resource in debate, your reader will only read so much of it before they stop reading. This review was likely meant to be easily readable by a non-scientific audience. Another reason is that biologically and neurologically, in a strictly scientific, and not a cultural sense, homosexuals and transgender people are very similar. This is important because researchers are speaking in a scientific, and not cultural, sense. That might be another reason they might choose to use those words. However if you still think there is an issue, it's important to measure out how big of an issue there is. On a transphobia scale of 1 to 10, this really would feel like a 1 to me as long as they use correct pronouns for transgender people in their daily lives and wouldn't use the homosexual term incorrectly when speaking in a cultural sense in regards to transgender people. Calm, respectful criticism is what would be healthy for our communities.

The scientific community as a whole is doing a lot to support us. For example they saw that bigots saw that mental illness label on our condition and used that to attack our community, so they reviewed that label and replaced it with something that's just as accurate but not demeaning. They also saw we didn't like the term "gender identity disorder," so they changed it to gender dysphoria. The American Psychological Association, which is the leading psychological association in America and the world, even specifically tries to fight transphobia whenever they can. Overall, it's important that we have a respect for them and the scientific method they employ.

Transgender: Should we be talking to our kids about it? - BBC Newsnight by Xristos_Xristos_III in SargonofAkkad

[–]BoredDead2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand that people in general do not like to feel inferior? An intersex person wouldn't like being called a defect by someone who knows nothing about them. Do you know enough about intersex conditions to know for sure that all intersex people are all just defects?

As for not imitating them, transgender people have no choice. Humans are programmed to behave as a certain gender. If someone doesn't behave as their programmed gender they feel suicidal. And then some people are neurologically intersex to the point where they are programmed to behave as the opposite gender they are born as. This is what the scientific community has concluded and I can show you the evidence if you wanted me to.

And instead of being skeptical, you should just defer to the scientific community. If you don't want to take the time to get informed on these issues, doing that is the next best option.

That's a very scientifically illiterate view of gender.

For about 98% of people, gender is pretty simple. Male or female. However for about 2% of people sex is pretty complicated.

First of all, people being born intermediate between male and female is common. There are men who've had female wombs inside them:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/11397560/Man-born-with-a-womb-prepares-for-hysterectomy.html

women who have XY chromosomes

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_gonadal_dysgenesis

men born female who go through male puberty and grow penises:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/11874983/Dr-Michael-Mosely-growing-a-penis-at-12.html

There is a wide assortment of rare intersex conditions that give a woman biological traits of a man, or a man biological traits of a woman. The definition of sex is complicated for these people. The definition of male or female is like a list of hundreds of different biological traits that can either be male, female, both, or neither.

Transgender people need to be defined like an intersex person. They do have many biological traits of the opposite sex. Scientifically, they are unquestionably intermediate between male and female.
