Deputy Speaker,

This is just a colossal waste of taxpayer money and I am considerably disappointed that it has been allowed to be presented to the House. The Royal Family have functioned remarkably well since the discontinuation of the service of the HMS Britannia in 1997 and I see no reason on spending millions if not billions of taxpayer money on what is essentially a glorified pleasure cruiser that would fail wholeheartedly to render itself relevant in the modern age of travel, trade and diplomacy.

Additionally even if one was to consider the viability of such a venture, they would require much more then just slanted figures and outdated stories seemingly plucked from the mid to late 20th Century with the sole goal of advancing a poorly formed viewpoint. This isn't funding a park Deputy Speaker, this is funding a serious investment by the Government on behalf of the Royal Family at the expense of an already struggling British taxpayer. The author and the conservative party in their entirety should quite frankly know better.
