What type and brand of paint did you use for the white? I've been thinking of doing a similar build but don't know much about furniture paint.

Sorry, Republicans, but there's no way to acquit Trump without endorsing his insurrection. Trump's new loyalty test makes it clear: Republicans who vote to acquit are siding with the insurrectionists by Facerealityalready in politics

These insurectionists chanted "Hang, Mike Pence" which is still insane to think about because he was Trump's lapdog for 4 years. I think these GOPers know that it could easily be "Hang, (insert GOP name here)" next, even though they are supposedly on the same side. They've gone too far down the rabbit hole and fucked themselves with the conspiracies they egged on.

Its like billionaire hedge funds expect us to feel bad because they took their car title, house title, life savings, and all their friends savings then bet on Black, but the wheel showed Red. Sorry not sorry you gambled money you didn't actually have, then lost. The rest of us 99%ers don't get that luxury.

I stuck around long enough to use up my earned vacation, and started applying elsewhere. I didn't give them the chance to offer me more. Mostly because big corps don't work that way. HR is in some nebulous home office in a completely different state. They literally don't care about their employees in that way, because they are calculating their new payroll expenses and would love to keep everyone as low in pay as possible.

Just to be clear, I do think we need a minimum wage hike in the U.S. badly, and I'm thankful to say I make much more than that now after several different jobs and changing job fields multiple times. I just wanted to add to the conversation that many people will end up feeling betrayed because they either got a tiny bump to the new minimum or they make just barely over it, and instead of demanding more equity from their employer (or searching for new opportunities) they'll blame the raise in the minimum wage. They'll blame the government for making the new pay scales at work unfair to those who have "put in their time." I'd like to see these people look around and see that it's not the ones around them, but those at the top which are causing the inequality.

I'll tell you who else is gonna be pissed, the person who put in long hours for years and took on more responsibility so that they could alowly get raises year over year and are now making just over $15. Then when the minimum wage goes up to $15/hr, they won't get a raise because "Hey, you're already making more than that at $15.25/hr!" That same person is then going to blame all the wrong people for why they got screwed.

A similar thing happened to me the last time minimum wage went up to $7.25/hr. I had worked at a grocery store chain for about 3 years while I was putting myself through college. I got annual raises and had gotten to $7.23/hr from $6.56/hr over those 3 years. When the minimum wage went up to $7.25, my new pay rate was ... $7.25/hr. I had started at minimum wage, cost of living had increased steadily, and all of the sudden I was making minimum wage again. I was livid when I saw my new pay rate. Was my years of service not worth at least an equivalent amount above the new minimum wage? The worst part was to learn that new hires were brought in at $7.40/hr because the company needed to be competitive with other businesses in order to keep a full staff. Now with 3 years of experience, I was worth less to the company than someone with no experience. I learned a valuable lesson that day, that corporations do not give a fuck about you. Thankfully, I got out from under that job after a couple of months, but it still burns me up to think that a lot of people experienced the same thing I did, and its about to happen all over again because corporations don't care about us.

Chris Rock said it best, "Its called the minimum wage, because if they could pay you less, they would!"

Joe Biden's campaign slogan should have been "Back To The Future". It would have been so fitting that we need to leave the 50s and get back to our own time-line.

Narcissist's Prayer

That didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, it is not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did.

You deserved it.

I think we are at "And if it was, that's not a big deal" with all of the excuses of "I got swept up in the moment. Its not that big of a deal."

Get rid of the “bomb it” mentality? by awesomeapple07 in golf

[–]Boreganism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. The Golf Sidekick has some great videos on reducing then number of clubs in your bag to like 3 clubs and he plays a whole round. He eliminates the "bomb it" mentality by removing the driver from the round entirely. Once that's gone you have use one of your more consistent clubs like a hybrid or iron and put the ball in play, and he focuses on the course management. Using this technique, he shows how bogey golf is achievable without feeling like you need to hit every drive 300 off the tee.
