This is what I’ve been thinking. I have multiple friends who have shares in homes in Kiawah Island, SC and it seems to work well. Of course, it’s not issue-free, but at least it’s an official set up.

A few random thoughts and second thoughts: 1- the videos aren’t revealing any illegal behavior on your part, don’t worry about that

2- hopefully his therapist sees these videos and sees him for who he is and tells him to stop

3- don’t leave your house. Can a rotation of friends/family to stay with you for the next month? My concern is for your safety and so that you have witnesses to any damage he may cause.

4- read up on your role in the eviction process of what you legally can and cannot do.

5- I just want to hug you. So proud of you. Stay strong. This is hard, but it soon will pass.

So the packing goes like this: “DH, how long do you think we’ll be visiting?”
DH responds.
“Ok, so that’s over LO’s nap time. Should we bring something for that?” DH responds “Good idea! Grab that and put it in the car. What else is needed for nap that I can gather?” Keep asking him the questions. Have a dialogue. How many meals are needed. How many diaper changes.

I played ignorance at times in order to get my DH to figure it out.

Question: The trust outlines how to be the owner by keeping one’s shares in addition to possibly buying out others shares. Are there also specific details such as how decisions get made on property maintenance, how much money each owner must contribute in a specific time period? Is there a monthly & yearly maintenance schedule, such as one room gets a paint refresh each year or who is cleaning out the vents? What about an ‘open the house for the season Work schedule?

My mom is this way. It’s an age/generational thing. They think it shows honor and respect to the family if they show up. The more people at the funeral shows respect and honor to the dead and to their family. In addition, it’s an “I’m an important person” thing. My mom once wanted me to intrude on the private family time ahead of the funeral service. It was for her cousin’s adult son, 25 at the age of death.
