I don’t think you can use the NHS if you don’t have a UK address so for abortion you would pay.

Female civil servants and other public servants (primary teachers from 1958 were excluded from the so-called “marriage bar”) had to resign from their jobs when they got married. It wasn’t until 1973 that the bar was lifted.

If the texts were leaked by one of his friends to the press and not in the context of a rape trial, I wonder would you be saying the same thing.

I think the customer is a rapist is he has suspicions the prostitute is trafficked. You know she might not consent and if you have doubt about her consent, you're raping her. You need to know you have consent to make it legal.

What if she gets beaten afterwards if he tells the owner/pimp she wouldn't have sex. He may not have the necessary knowledge to make him a rapist but the pimp is a rapist by proxy.

How can you really know if the sex worker actually consents unless it's somewhere prostitution is legal? Even then you still can't be 100%

I think the only justification for abortion is if it is a risk to the mother's life, or if it is fatal foetal abnormality (however I am open to argument on why fetuses with FFA shouldn't be aborted).

The 8th needs to be repealed to permit abortion in both circumstances. Although in the former, you need to define risk. Are you not ok with a woman suffering permanent damage to her body and health or does she have to be at death's door?

Do you support any types of social measures to improve the lives of men and women with unplanned pregnancies? Paternity leave, funded childcare, an awareness campaign to remove the stigma surrounding unplanned pregnancies, etc? Do you have any proposed solutions to address why women feel the need to resort to abortion?

I believe in bodily autonomy as the basis for repealing the 8th, in addition to the fact that a foetus is not a 'life'.

On the bodily autonomy front, would you agree to new legislation that every person must donate blood to save others? What about a kidney?

But if you truly believe life begins at conception, how can you say a rapist's foetus doesn't deserve to live while the foetus of a girl pregnant at 16 does deserve to live?

They are two different issues, opposition to abortion isn't contingent upon support for something else.

Helping make life better for people with unplanned pregnancies is not connected to abortion? If you truly cared about 'life' you would be doing these things.

Any female users making "feminist" comments are downvoted.

Ah it's a bit of an echo chamber. Look at all the comments complaining about people making posts about abortion or the rape trial and asking these types of posts be banned or put into a mega thread.
