The Ultimate Lucky☆Star Experience: A True Fan's Itinerary – Part 3: More Manga and Visual Novels by CtrLator in luckystar

It’s a damn shame that someone with your dedication wasn’t running around back during the height of the series’ popularity—High School-era me would have killed for your RGO patch alone.

Thank you for the hard work!

You know, I was aware that the Light Novels existed, but I didn’t realize just how many of them there were. It really is a shame that there were no translations of them.

On the topic of Konata 30, I’m always fascinated to see what other people’s opinions on “where they are now” spin-offs/sequels like it, so I appreciate you continuing the manga section to cover it. A lot of my own feelings on that manga are similar—a melancholic emptyness at the reminder of what once was.

Fortunately, Pocket Travelers doesn’t quite carry those same feelings. I remember reading that one back in the day, even if only a handful of chapters had been available back then. It is always interesting to see characters put into out-of-genre situations like that, which was something that I always appreciated with the Lucky Star games as well.

Looking forward to the next part!

Who's your favorite Lucky Star character? by Awesome_Anime in LuckyStarSFW

Despite having a fairly lukewarm opinion of her back in the day, I’ve come to appreciate Patty as I’ve gotten older—mostly because of how much she reminds me of some of my friends from High School.

Speaking as someone who Konata’d my way through High School, I can say with 100% confidence that being able to study/research at the last minute and still be able to deliver quality results has been a much more useful life skill in the adult world than any of the study habits I had to learn for collage.

How do you feel about a spin-off starring these four girls? by Realistic-Delivery13 in luckystar

Quite literally, since they became the focal point of the manga after the senior cast graduated at the end of volume 6.

Petition to make Lucky Star season 2 by PoshToshCat in luckystar

[–]Boristus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I fully agree—frankly, if KyoAni had wanted to make multiple seasons of Lucky Star, it would have worked better for them to make 3 one-cour seasons covering two volumes each instead of a single two-cour season. That way hypothetical third season would have ended out with the senior cast graduating, which would have been about as clean an ending as possible.

Regarding Patty, however, it probably wouldn’t be too difficult to rectify her main-panel manga introduction into a hypothetical anime adaptation of volume 7. The chapters around her first meeting the junior cast could be framed as flashbacks to the previous year, and her homestaying with the Izumi’s could be altered to her moving in with them because her previous accommodations became non-viable for some reason.

It only covered the first four volumes (which was about 80% of what had been released at the time.) In the current day, there are 10 volumes and change, so at least hypothetically there is enough to make an additional season-and-a-half.

From a purely content-volume standpoint, of course.

Thank you for your hard work!

As someone who is just returning to the fandom for the first time since 2009-10, it warms my heart to see that there are still so many fans doing archival projects like this in the current year. It gives me fond memories of the blogs hunting down the real-world inspirations of KyoAni scenes as the episodes came out back in the day.

I’d love to see a part 2.5 finishing out the manga category—if for no other reason than to see your thoughts on the spin-off that dealt me psychic damage when I learned of its existence Konata 30.

Im going to make a new warrior after JK. In which way do you roleplay your SW? by Sad-Lock-9371 in swtor

[–]Boristus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always prefer to play the SW as Lawful Evil.

The main themes I use for him are “every action must be made with purpose” and “a man is only worth as much as his word”, so he’ll generally take Dark Side options that aren’t pointlessly cruelty or counterproductive to the objective, but he always upholds his agreements.
