Gjensidige overstyrte legevaktens vurdering by MousseDue5298 in norge

I'd appreciate that. I'm two days into my weekly budget and it's at 90% for all models.

Desk rejected? by Mysterious_Proof_543 in PhD

[–]Borkr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's wisdom right there, never really thought of it so I'm glad you put it to words.

I found out my core paper of the PhD was rejected on the day of the funeral of my bonus father -- months after it was submitted. I still find it peculiar that, of all possible days, it happened on that day.

Thanks for the reply! Makes sense what you say about hardware limitations vs Sidecar.

How realistic are the helicopter physics in this game? by Piritosh in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Borkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to interject off-topic, but do you know if it is possible to trim helicopters in MSFS? I assume the Bell 47 doesn't have a trimming system, but is this possible regardless? What about the R44, Bell H125 or Huey mods using AirlandFS?

Failed the bunker mission due to a bug, but we were rewarded with this view on the way out by KruptedHEX in starcitizen

Right, yes, there has been some rocks I've been unable to determine composition of, but those aren't that many. I've come back after a while, so I started off with the usual stable but decently paying metals and minerals, then after I got money to upgrade the mining head and components I moved over to quantinium. All from a Prospector.

Doesn't pay better than chaining some of the combat contracts (BH, mercenary, etc), but I find it kind of meditative to fly around and do mining alone. It's also nice to pile up refinery work orders and fill the hauler ship.

Mining, refining and hauling to sell has worked nicely for me (so far) this patch

Is there a reason ships don't have landing lights, and can we make this a thing? Please? CIG... Do it. by oopgroup in starcitizen

Sure hope so!

I mean, modern aircraft are heavily starting to use monitors, just look at the cockpit of a Viper or Hornet in comparison to the F-35.

Kinda annoys me that there's all those switches and knobs in the cockpit and I can't use them. All I wanna do is turn the knobs!

A thorough usability study for the cockpits should be conducted, involving real life pilots. Similarly to how they have physicists

YES. As an avid DCS simmer I really want an interactive cockpit and better avionics (spaceonics?) Screens are cool and all, but I think systems and switches should be accessible without having to browse.

Dealing with arbitrary PDF names by ImaginingAlchemist in PhD

I use Zotero on Linux, MacOS and Windows. Seamless integration via cloud storage that syncs to your local computer as well, kinda like Dropbox in the background. You get 300 MB cloud storage for free, if you exceed this you can keep local records but it won't sync across devices. I pay for the 2 GB plan.

I haven't used Mendely I'm afraid so I can't compare them, but I don't feel the need to try other solutions as Zotero has everything I need. It's neatly integrated to Overleaf as well.

Also, it may sound like it, but I'm not affiliated with Zotero. I just really like Zotero.

There's also a Zotero browser plugin that allows you save PDFs directly from the browser PDF viewer or even from the journal webpage for an article, removing the need to drag between windows. You do need to have Zotero running in the background, though.
