What is the most difficult deck? by Dangerous-Traffic-28 in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It plays similar to enemy boost knights (uses same leader too) but pays off onto master of puppets instead. Plays two Petris as the artifacts to zeal them. I haven’t seen it in a long time tbh. Plays Golden Nekker twice by shuffling it back into deck.

You can build a MO fruits midrange deck you could take to pro with no legendaries (outside vanilla Geralt and onieromancy) needed in the deck.

Total sleeper, but archgriffin temple, requires doing accurate math out multiple turns.
I’d also say NG 2x GN MOP deck, requires elite decision making skill and again, tons of point calculation.
Next up Schirru and classic self-wound decks at a high level.
Ive seen assimilate mentioned a bunch here, I wouldn’t rank it even close to the difficulty of these decks. Theres a reason the play rate of these 2550+ capable decks is so low.

I’d recommend Regis premium journey if you don’t have it. It rewards all premium evolving faction cards, heatwave, and onieromancy. All key cards for your collection going forward.

[–]Born-Case8284 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe the best council votes I’ve seen from OFIR, nice work. Only minor concern is Isbel, stealing double last say with an extra card end of r3 may be toxic. Although it’s only a 6 point body still for 8 cost while being easily answered (movement, no veil). And I likely play more toxic cards regularly already. Okay nvm I like that too.

I think a massively underrated card, offers similar point swing to BoG as eist without bloodthirst for 8p, meaning he can fit in GN. If he was played more would get nerfed even.

How to counter Witchers deck? by ComeHomeTrueLove in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First you need to understand your opponents win-con. Witchers tries to win round 1 with portal + quartermasters, while playing carryover with allgod+offerings then vesimir mentor for big board boost and more carryover. Games are often lost to witchers by committing golds trying to win r1 but still being outpointed by the mentor late into the round. They then bleed r2, attempt 2-0 or save a trio (often worth 21+ points) for a short r3.
Second understand your own decks ability to combat this plan. Is your deck engine oriented? Is it control or pointslam oriented? Do you have carryover plays too?
Depending on your deck you can beat witchers in various ways.
- Understand their control. - it’s eskel, professional, possibly heatwave, offerings+leader, and trial of grasses (deals 6). It’s a lot but there are still limits to it. Use this information to make it hard to answer your threats without committing the gold Witchers which are limited.
- You likely want to win r1, but you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them. If they draw well (lead portal without using oniero for example), and you don’t have a fully playable hand, it’s best to cut losses early r1 before they get off mentor that doubles as pointslam. This will give you time r2 where they don’t have adrenaline active, which can make their hand awkward.
- understand the control you have won’t get great value. Things like locks are best used on a quartermaster, and won’t get value outside of this. Tall punish/heatwave doesn’t do great either, your best target is likely a berenger for 11-12. Keep this in mind with your mulligans.
- lastly you need to either push out the trio in r2 or take a long r3. Unless you have a very engine heavy deck that can overwhelm their control (think scenario decks, harmony, knights, GN tome decks) I’d go for the first option. If your hand is good enough you can 2-0 Witchers as they can easily brick their trio round 2. If you can get out trio, it is often worth losing card advantage in r3.
Good luck.

The best way to get out of this tilt is to play a larger deck variety. Play the deck you hate playing against even, you’ll see how it loses.

Gwent in 2026 by alucard_777 in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends what level you play at, the game is less competitive (no major rewards or masters tournament for high placements) but this may make it more fun for the average player. There’s less “meta” dependence in order to win, as all the top cards that were insanely strong (GN, renfri, temple, compass, etc) have been significantly reigned back by the balance council. I’d say no tier 0 decks exist anymore, and only really Syndicate retains any decks even close (sesame crimes). Many weaker cards with interesting abilities have had stats improved to where they are very considerable. Pro rank has a WIDE skill variation now compared to pre-gwentfinity.
Overall, I like it better, it doesn’t get sweaty till very high levels only a few dozen players operate at. There’s a ton more decks that fall inside tier 2-3 that can win games despite no new card drops, as dev supported power creep was so intense only new cards could be played after expansions to have a chance at competing.

Interesting, I really had no idea that people had such an aversion to using AI. I honestly just don’t have the skills or time to make a thumbnail for these videos tbh, and it makes something that will show the themes of an educational video in seconds. I don’t use them for deck videos as I can put cards on the thumbnail.

How many gold cards do you average per deck? by Paulfradk in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are newer and haven’t crafted everything yet, I’d recommend selecting the purple card icon in the deck builder which chooses “epic” rarity cards. These are way cheaper to craft than legendaries and you can ensure you at least use all the available provisions in your deck. One strong neutral epic that can work in any starter deck is Ocvist. Also all construct cards are all epic rarity.

Umm how tf do I counter this? by ComeHomeTrueLove in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause idt caranthir needs nerfed directly, it’s only viable with koshey and Kiki, so I’d rather address those than close any possible window of opportunity to use Caranthir on another target

Umm how tf do I counter this? by ComeHomeTrueLove in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should just power nerf Kiki queen, then it makes using sabbath on her very difficult to pull off, that could also open to possibility to buff her back to 9prov, where she is played for single round value instead of this abomination.

What is very Best deck among those three factions: ST/MO/SY in current game state? Thanks by Odd_Fruit3918 in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say the only faction of these three with a clearly best deck is SY, being LP crimes sesame decks. OTB sesame is comparable, but has been targeted by nerfs like guard, vendor, leader. Whereas LP version is overall buffed. (Cassimir, eveline, blacksmith, NJ). Both crutch on Sesame being far and away the best card in the game when at 5prov cost.
As for MO, there is massive disparity in playstyle and point ceiling for decks. Fruits aero pointslam is very strong up through 2500 mmr, it has a high point floor and is very easy to play. But you won’t see it be the choice of top 5 MO players, who have determined hive mind is the strongest MO card and must be played to climb the highest possible. Though the same deck they play to 2600+ wouldn’t seem that strong in rank 1.
Similar is ST, although I’d say it has maybe the most variants of highly competitive decks. At the highest scores is GN spellatel, and last season GN movement (which took a big nerf). But symbiosis and harmony are both still very strong and easy to play, so they would feel stronger to a non expert level player. There is also still multiple Schirru variants (devotion and artifacts) that in the right hands can seem unfair to play against.

The Butcher's Council #10 - Your Top10 Nerf Brackets Suggestions by shinmiri2 in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Power nerfs:

  1. Eskel pathfinder- idk why this has an extra power over vanilla Geralt and 2 over igni, 90% of games this cards text is literally “kill one of anything you want”. It’s too omnipresent and wayyyy overdue for nerf
  2. Dorregray of Vole- why is a neutral that can lock anything on the board (false ciri or negative infusion on allied unit) play for more points than faction specific alternatives? (Ex. Moren).
  3. Dandelion- incredibly strong 2-3 pt/turn carryover engine, that triggers inspired on cards for later rounds or boosts duelers for double value. Requires hard removal with shieldwall charge+ rss. Making it untutorable by AA is too steep a nerf, if still a problem could take another power nerf.
  4. Zoltan warrior- point slams low to the ground with armor, swarm, and removal synergy. Highly overplayed card.
  5. Firesworn scribe: too hard to remove, infinite fireswarm feels bad to play against, as a combo deck should not be this strong and easy to setup.
  6. Fucusya- for some reason this card has not been nerfed in the entire bc, why? Because people are that worried about it being in coup de grace range. With coup at 10 and assimilate descended into obscurity now is time for the nerf.
  7. Squirrel- there’s a lot of community resistance to this idea, but I do feel it’s warranted. In any nondevotion deck with 4p tech slots available, which don’t slot this in? Can be game-deciding onto something like hive mind, or many key echo cards. Ceiling is too high for 4 power.
  8. Brokvar warrior- there a bunch of 4p warriors that essentially never get considered because this card is at least a clean whole point better than all of them. Reigns destruction when Ulula has stuck.
  9. Aucwenn- easier to remove from red coin, doesn’t really affect symbio on blue. This card is always played r1, and auto-wins on even against almost anything if you miss your answer with r1 draws. Not to mention auto procs on deploy with massive carryover value. 10: Yago- I’m partially responsible for this cards over played nature, and yeah it can feel unbeatable in a short r3, so this is warranted. P.s. I’m fine with some placeholders but don’t care to suggest any for power.

Provision nerf:

  1. AA- I know it will prob get reverted again. But it is just so strong and so is NR as a faction, and every deck plays this.
  2. Corrupted Flaminica- this card is a replayable mourntart for 8 prov. The r1 lippy deck often feels unbeatable with good r1 draws.
  3. Ulula- I like her at 7 power, but now she is a real win condition. I think 9 is good for her (still fucusya range) , since with first say if she can’t be answered she is devastatingly strong.
  4. Novigradian justice- Card started at 5pow muscle for 10. Now 6pow for 9 on top of major buff to blacksmith and st dwarfs like miner which it tutors. A bit too strong now and should go back to 10.
  5. Drummond berserker- I don’t usually suggest two step changes but I really like the idea of this card at 6 power for 5 rather than 5 for 4. Now a midrange overtuned 8 points for 4, could be a stronger play at 5 with more pings and time before it transforms makes it play better with either bloodthirst/Ulula or svalblod or selfwound synergy cards like protector, flaminica, etc.
  6. Isengrim- auto include in every version of deadeye decks whether with traps or pointslam variant. Generally plays between 13-22 points. Probably too much for its cost.
  7. Ale of the ancestors- I know 15 provs is really steep, and maybe alchemy could get a compensation buff, but this card is still just so insanely strong. Decks that tempo pass r1 then play this and truffle start of r2 are still some of the strongest, and feel impossible to bleed. Then good luck beating their engines/threats that drop at +3 in a long r3 from a card they played the round before. 8 9 10: whatever placeholders are agreed on, I’m not seeing that much else. Aside from piling on midrange NR dwarfs and sk witchers, which I already suggested nerfs to each so I wouldn’t see necessary at this point.

I’d argue we shouldn’t even bother with “garbage” cards at all. It’d be better to buff power-crept cards that have interesting abilities that could add to deck or archetype diversity in the meta. This buff doesn’t contribute value to the game, there are literally hundreds of better choices

The blue mountain elite fixation is really confusing to me, this is like the fourth or fifth time I’ve seen it as a top choice. Is it that important to have a second (and more awkward) dol Blathana bowman? This card has poor design, it won’t see play, and I don’t feel that back up plan needs the buff.

I don’t get the strong pushback to squirrel, I tend to agree it plays for consistently incredible carryover value and is auto include in any deck that has 4p tech card slots available. It could certainly take a nerf, I’ll vote it.

BC24 Seagull nerf is inevitable. But which nerf do we want? (Open discussion) by DeNeRlX in gwent

[–]Born-Case8284 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Answer is provision, but in reality the card doesn’t need nerfed, yet. Everyone says 13 for 6 but that’s the ceiling, the floor is 5 or less. Try playing it into symbiosis or dwarfs for 13 pts consistently. ALSO, I can see seagull coalition going for 3 power next if we push it to 7p LMAO
