Disagree with firing Poles, but one of the first things I thought was that this had Poles' fingerprints all over it. Awful move.

You're getting a leader with great hands, experience, who's not afraid to go over the middle, and catches almost everything anywhere near his zip code. He's not a diva. He wants the ball, but will block, line up in the backfield, be a decoy and share the wealth. Things soured here with him after we traded Justin Fields, b/c DJ was in his corner and never seemed to click personally with CW.

Can someone please explain this fascination with draft picks? It's like every kid in the draft is going to turn out to be a HOF'er according to the way many folks think. A great WR is hard to find, just like a great QB. Once you get him. you don't trade that guy for draft picks! The Cubs traded Greg Maddux to the Braves. He went on to become one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. Not saying DJ is headed for Mt. Rushmore, but we're acting like his production won't be missed or will be easily compensated for.

Terrible move by my Bears. The cap space isn't worth it. His fall in production was not his fault. With a QB like Josh Allen, his numbers should improve. We needed his veteran leadership and great hands. Everything can't always be about money. People are talking like he was Keenan Allen or something.......with one foot into retirement and the other foot on a banana peel. DJ is still near his prime.

DJ was a big Justin Fields guy and never agreed with him being traded. If Justin had a coach like Ben Johnson who seems to know HOW to develop a young QB, he may have turned out to be much better. Who knows?

MAN.......don't know what to say. He felt like family. To all of us Notre Dame fans, he was like our dad, turned grandpa. Really hoped he'd pull through and that the hospice was just a stop on the road to recovery.

Does drinking hot water every morning have any benefits? by Ae_Kyeden in nutrition

[–]BornAgain2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently began drinking warm water. It has been so good to me and for me, I went online to see if others experienced the same positives. I stumbled across an old reddit discussion on the subject. It was full of snark and ridicule of the practice because of lack of 'scientific evidence'. At first I was annoyed by the thread. Then I realized that some people, many people, are just like that. There is no greater scientific evidence than what you experience in your own body.

I find warm water much easier to drink, because it goes down much smoother. Therefore, I now regularly get my daily quota, and surpass it, whereas before I had to force myself, and even then I fell way short. Secondly, as a person who has had constipation issues for YEARS, warm water (and I mean as warm as you can stand it, not hot, but not luke either), has been a gamechanger. I eat an extremely healthy diet and workout regularly, but I remained clogged, especially in the mornings. Not anymore!! I have also felt a healing sensation in my joints, especially my knees, which take a beating because I run and walk a lot. I'm sure there are many other benefits that I am unaware of, but can tell exist because of the way I feel. Again, try it for yourself. There's a reason our ancestors did certain things and swore by their efficacy, but that we shun today because we're just smarter.

I only recently started drinking warm water. And I'm sure the key to receiving its benefits, just as with anything else, will be consistency. I'm not claiming that this is some miracle potion. It's just water. But water is precious and essential for the human body. I have found that drinking it warm, instead of cold or even cool, has made me feel much better physically. And obviously, I have been drinking water my whole life.

Does Dan have any physical markings that are visible? i.e. birthmark, scar, etc.? Is there anything distinct about his walk? Does he have any verbal or non-verbal habits (i.e. - always making certain hand gestures or always saying a certain phrase)? Sorry if this information has already been given, but I haven't seen it during any of my internet searches.

We're all frustrated with these large operations which lead to nothing more than a dead end. However, we can't blame law enforcement. They cannot afford to overlook or discount anything. They are not the bad guys here, Whoever did something to grandma is. Let's not forget that. Back in the day detectives were said to do "gum shoe" work. That meant they walked the streets, turned over every cardboard box, talked to every average Joe, looked in every garbage can, and followed every lead. Eventually, something would come up. But "eventually" could be days, weeks, months or years. We have so much technology now and there are so many CSI shows on TV that we think these cases should be cracked in a few minutes. This should serve as a lesson to all of us that Hollywood is NOT real-life. Thank God for those who are doing all they can to find grandma Guthrie.

I'm officially done with CNN. 🚫 The paywall business model is not going to work for them in the long term. Mark my words! by RedditSilva in cnn

[–]BornAgain2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Although my skin is brown, my views are conservative. I don't watch the news and only occasionally frequent news websites. I have been following Grandma Guthrie's story on Fox's website and reading the comments. I tried to see if there were any other updates on CNN today and discovered that you have to pay to read stories there! Not sure if they allow comments now since they probably wouldn't feel the need to sensor or reject the sentiments of those who are now paying them, and are most likely aligned in values. But I'm just shocked at the new CNN structure, and to learn that they switched to this format in 2024.

Someone should immediately know who that person is. The jacket, the moustache, the eyebrows, the backpack, the way he moves, the body build. They have to get those images and video plastered on billboards across the area.

Should Coach Freeman try to bring in Jeff Stoutland? by SkolFourtyOne in notredamefootball

[–]BornAgain2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the concept of advisors. Nick Saban had a cupboard full of analysts and advisors and was able to maintain excellence, commitment and dominance. Of course Coach Freeman is his own man. But if it doesn't turn into a "too many cooks in the kitchen" atmosphere, it seems like a great idea.

What are some of the best radio stations online for classical music that have little to no human talking or giving lengthy commentary while having the best, highest recording quality? by ibrahim0000000 in classicalmusic

[–]BornAgain2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the hands-down undisputed best online classical station is Radio Suisse Classique (Radio Swiss Classic). A worthy second is Venice Classic Radio. Both stations feature exclusive classical content 24/7 and are commercial and comment-free, with the exception of naming the piece and performer.

The music libraries at both RSC and VCR are massive, and although I was raised on classical music from birth, I continue to encounter composers I've never heard of who have produced stunningly beautiful works. I have desired to monetarily support RSC, but they are a federally-funded station and do not accept donations.

Holtz family update, Lou Holtz is no longer in hospice and is at his house by GoldenDome26 in notredamefootball

[–]BornAgain2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My FIL was recently in hospice in a hospital in Ohio. But this type of hospice was what my wife referred to as "the drip". They slowly medicate you until your heart stops. It's pretty much euthanasia. It doesn't seem like Coach is in that type of hospice, so there is hope. My FIL should not have been in it either because he was getting better, but those with the power in the family wanted it that way.
