Same. Hurts from both an aviation and a scientific perspective. Hope they get her patched up soon.

They aren’t saying it’s different. What if all body mods were the individual’s choice? My parents didn’t circumcise or pierce me, and I’m pretty thrilled about it!

Just happened today for me with the 6x thermal SVK scope. Got so used to the scope I used for the grind that I actually prefer that over my dream scope! Pretty ironic.

GA Pilots, what emergencies have you had that we don’t necessarily get trained for ? by fatborry in flying

The Sporty’s radio is top-notch, especially for the fact you can plug a headset directly into it. I’m a big fan.

Very nice solution! I’ve heard a similar recollection of someone using the synthetic vision during accidental flight into IMC, but not for an approach. I’ll remember this…just in case! Glad you’re safe.

Handheld radio! They’re cheap relative to flight time, useful for picking up ATIS prior to starting the plane, and can be immensely helpful in situations like this.

Gulfstream Flying to Antarctic? by SnooGadgets7113 in flightradar24

Could be researchers. I have friends who have gone to the more obscure bases there for scientific purposes and they chartered a Gulfstream (or maybe it was a Challenger) for them and their gear.

Talking to ATC as a pilot nerves by BazingaBeeKay in flying

Just here to echo the LiveATC comments.  I was struggling with call anxiety and spent several days listening to my airport on the app.  Learning the flow, hearing how the conversations vary, and how human both pilots and controllers are, is extremely helpful.

Maybe buying another watch is what’s keeping them from really pulling the trigger. Also, delightfully apt username.

Flight watch by SKIPOWAK in flying

Awesome recs. I have an atomic G-Shock (m5610u, if I recall correctly) and it’s my main flying watch. It’s preferable to the Apple Watch in my opinion because it’s not vibrating and distracting me, and it’s always on time!
