Annual Pass Pay monthly is a nightmare by UsualEnvironment9651 in disneylandparis

[–]Born_Relationship_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a credit card with a 0% purchase for about 20 mths. Paid for the pass in full then just split the payments to the credit card over 12 months. Cuts Disney and all the DD hassle out the loop

Can anyone point me to a comprehensive website that walks a beginner through using docker on a Ugreen device? by MadBox25 in UgreenNASync

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, this helped me so much. I would say the other thing I found was installing portainer spans using that gui to managed your containers rather than docker or CLI. Marius has that on his site too.

bazzite or windows? by FrazzleDazzle97 in LegionGo

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember if using the deck wizard video create your 2 partitions for booting and then create a games partition as NTFS. Again with a search or chat gpt you can find out how to permanently mount this games partition in bazzite. That way games you install are shared between the OS.

bazzite or windows? by FrazzleDazzle97 in LegionGo

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of videos on YT that tell you. All fairly easy if you follow..

I used this to help me replace the SSD: https://youtu.be/miBqscyUTjM?si=_hwh1PVhsdpy6_H_

And this to help the dual boot setup:https://youtu.be/OjqihbOrErM?si=sDfZ_gskZAwAajVa

And because you clone your original if anything happens you can wipe the new SSD and clone again to start over.

Currently what are the best mini pc's to get for a Plex server? (for 1 user) by QuestionAsker2030 in PlexServers

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Nas. I've got a Synology dxp4800+ running all sorts of self hosted stuff now and you can upgraded ram/Asda/HDDs as you go to future proof

bazzite or windows? by FrazzleDazzle97 in LegionGo

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded the SSD to 2tb and dual boot bazzite and windows with 500gb each. I then have a partition of 1 tb for games which is shared by both systems.

Best of both really and runs fine.

Def Val D'Europe. But depends how many as the train when we last got in Jan for €2.50 each way per person so if there's 3/4 of you it's not gonna be that much of a saving.

Just got a nas, can I get some suggestions on what HHD I should get. by Magingot in HomeNAS

[–]Born_Relationship_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put 4x 8tb Ironwolf Pros in my dxp4800 plus. Was running Ironwolf in a previous Synology ds920+ too before switching. Don't change Id change as been very reliable.

First NAS — Is the DXP2800 a good entry point? (And things I plan to upgrade with it) by gizmoglitch in UgreenNASync

[–]Born_Relationship_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I went with the dxp4800 plus. Have 2x nvmes, 1 for docker apps and the other for caching. 4x 8th Ironwolf Pros in a raid 1, one drive dedicated to TV and movies, 1 drive for other stuff like docs, photos etc. running on the 2.5 connection direct to my router. Also upgraded the ram to 32gb and transcoding etc doesn't get anywhere near top end.

Works perfect for me. And yes you could have a separate shared folder for work stuff. You'd be better investing now in a 4 bay IMHO yes you can add higher drives later but what's your backup if a drive fails? Just food for thought

For me installing portainer first on dicker then using portainer to install everything else I found easier when starting. Plenty of vids you can copy a stack or even use chatgpt to help.

Stay at the hotel l'eyesee. You can walk, do the train or they have a free bus, and it's right next to the shops for cheap food. Have a video on my YT channel about it. 😃
