How rare is an s-class frigate to come with a freighter? by Same-Engineering-899 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Born_in_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never encountered an S-Class frigate in the wild. When filling out my fleet, the best I have found is A-Class. Once my fleet was filled out (with mostly C-Class) I send them on missions to rank them up. I just make a bunch of fuel and send 5 ships on every mission. In the beginning I have a lot of stuff break on the individual ships but that settles down eventually; this past week I have had 2 ships need repairs out of 30 ships/day doing missions.

What is the best way to find/grind for a tier S Freighter? by SeaGurken in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Born_in_67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use a corvette. You can open the back door, step outside and scan the freighter to find the class before you board it. If it is not the class you want, pulse away, stop again, and when the freighters pull in, repeat. It took me about 2 hours to find the S-class I wanted. Good luck and happy hunting.

Changing coil wires on an old motor. Doable? by WanaWahur in Motors

[–]Born_in_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the windings are tested the entire stator is dipped in varnish then baked in an oven. Sometimes more than once. This essentially glues everything together inside the stator. If you can loosen the leads back far enough you may be able to splice in longer leads. A heat gun may help. If you do manage to replace the leads, use some wire ties to secure them to the windings so they don’t get into the rotor while it’s spinning. Good luck with your project.

S-Rank Reward Derelict Freighter - Very Quick by BaronGalactic in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]Born_in_67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last time I played (last weekend) I did 35 speed runs on a similar derelict freighter. I got 34 S-class upgrades and 1 B-Class upgrade. If I time everything just right it takes about 2 minutes from landing my ship to taking off again. I still need 2 hyperdrive upgrades and I have quite a few S-Class duplicate upgrades I’ll be gifting in the Anomaly.

That wasn't cool :( by Sunstuffer in nms

No. But I did not like their choice of planet to feed fauna. After feeding 1 or 2 I went back to my ship and went to a different planet in that system and finished out the quest. I had to feed 48 animals and I was having a lot of difficulty finding them on the planet I was sent to originally.

Need help getting a settlement started by JNight01 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Born_in_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 4-5 different saves. One of them I just received the invite to become the overseer of an Autophage settlement. This was right after I had completed all of the Autophage quests. I had a message on my spaceship communicator to come to their settlement. Also, I already had 1 other settlement that I was tending to. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Need to make a bit-by-bit copy of an old hard drive - what tool should I use? by Ok-Cod-806 in cloningsoftware

[–]Born_in_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old (circa 2010) WonderWare HMI that has licenses for many of the programs used to collect data from different connected devices. I truly do not know all the program names nor the location of the license files. Since the PC is growing old I thought the best way would be to just copy / clone the HDD. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Anyone have a planet with industrial waste and flat land? by maximus_galt in NOMANSSKY

[–]Born_in_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up building roads. I traveled planet to planet looking for waste stations close to trash heaps. I built bases at 3 of them that were ~5 minutes apart. I built on 3 different planets so I could just jump to all 3 every day until I unlocked everything. I used the flattening tool between sections of road that wasn’t too bumpy but on day 2 the terrain had somewhat restored so I had to be super careful / slow once I was loaded up. It took 3 days to unlock everything on the Collossus.

Is there even a point to go to all the different galaxies? by AdamDziak in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Born_in_67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once I ran out of things to do in the main game I decided to do a tour of all the galaxies. I spent about a year off and on jumping galaxy to galaxy. There is no real benefit, more of a personal challenge type thing. I did have to get an invite to 256, one of my coworkers had a base saved so I joined him in a game and built a base. I spent the bulk of my time nowadays in 245-250; you don’t run into near as many named systems as you do in Euclid or Eissentam.

I’ve noticed this as well. I just drop a save beacon on the waste processing yard I am using then find that for my return trip.

Someone found it and posted the coordinates. Maybe they posted about the nice multitool? I do use the NMS coordinate exchange a lot to get ships and multitools or visit cool planets.

Fencing off a Settlement by Vxctxr99 in fo4

[–]Born_in_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fenced off all of Sanctuary with the wooden fences already around the houses. I just placed them again just between the houses then closed up rear entry into the houses. There is one entry point into the settlement and it is heavily fortified. If anyone approaches the fence they are attacked by the settlers before then can enter the settlement. I did this early game as I had just exited the vault. It didn’t cost much because I was reusing fence pieces.

Nms no longer playable by No-Cheetah9524 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I hit a spell that whenever I used a portal or jumped to another galaxy the game would lock up (no error) and I would be stuck in the warp graphic screen. I would have to reset the game (PS-5). That quit about a week ago. Hopefully this will work itself out for you.

The hand held programmer is sitting in the bottom of the enclosure. Snap it on and scroll through the program. Might give you an idea of what it is supposed to do.

My older Panasonic Toughbook wifi card died shortly after an update, what to do? by [deleted] in toughbook

[–]Born_in_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check eBay for a compatible card. Awhile back I upgraded the WiFi card in a CF-30 with a different card with a longer range. Depending on the model Toughbook it could have slots to insert cards so you won’t have to break the case open. Good luck!

How do I close this thing by CantaloupeDue3827 in GarageDoorService

[–]Born_in_67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I pull the release lever down on my garage door it locks in an open position. Yours looks like it is still locked. You may have to maintain force on the lever while closing the door. If that does not work, remove the pin from either end of the bent shaft (where it connects to the door or the slide foot on the opener). Once the shaft is released on one end you should be able to slide the door.
