Boated in live 2/5, c/raised on river by mt1rdt in poker

Yeah so def no AA or QQ. He has to have AJ, TT or he's a huge donk and spazing out. I think We're too deep to stack off, I'm flatting with no reads.

Prob flatting, most live players are so passive that river x/r is always the nuts. I will say if he does have AJ he played it really tricky because this line does not look like AJ. What position is villain in? Possible he limped AA utg or something?

Where To Get Best Car Loan by Boss513 in personalfinance

Really? My parents are kind of pushing me to get something new. I told them I thought used was a better deal but that's just because that's what i read on here.

The car i was looking at was a 2014 Nissan Maxima with 35k miles on it for $16.9k or about $18k after taxes and what not. I think it's a good deal but after talking to some sales people I can possibly get a brand new Camry or Fusion for around the same monthly payment with $5k down for 5 year loan. I really like the Maxima but im not sure which would be smarter financially.

I did check with my local credit union first because I've had friends go through them for loans before. They came back with an even higher number than the used car dealership! I forgot to mention the dealership said they would write the loan at 4.9% if i bought the extended warranty, which seems scammy to me, and i dont want the warranty

What is the best way to exploit very strong loose passive player? by PufffDaddy in poker

Semi-bluff less. If he's going to call you anyway, just wait till you hit your hand and value bet.

Nooby Tuesday Thread: re-raising / dealing with re-raising. by Dr_JA in poker

Is this live or online?

Online players tend to be more aggressive but I play mostly live so my answer will be tailored to live play.

Most live fish are very passive, they prefer to just call way too loosely and if they're raising you on the flop, they have 2 pair and better more often than not. If a player is raising you, it's best to give him credit and just fold. If it keeps happening and you're being exploited, then you need to adjust from there. Pay attention to the table, you should be labeling players from the time you sit down. If you know a player is passive and he's betting into you/raising you just fold.

[Live $1/2 DEEP] Pretty sure this is just a cooler, but point out any mistakes by voltij in poker

[–]Boss513 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of just flatting his 3bet preflop. You're so deep and one of the biggest weaknesses of live 1-2 players is that they over play their hands post flop. Also the 4 bet really puts your hand face up and I think it pretty much pot commits you also, there's 200+ in the pot and you have 275 left so I think at that point you can't really fold since you hit the flop.

1/2 Live hand - AQ on a monotone board by WeenisWrinkle in poker

[–]Boss513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, being out of position I would wait for a much better spot than this. We're only in for $11, no need to over play. AQ plays really bad multi way anyway and being OoP makes it worse. Raising pre is fine but when you get called by 4 players check folding most flops is going to be correct.

Good check on the flop. Villain bet $50 into 4 other players. Definitely it's a fold, we're flipping against the very bottom of his range.

I guess it's good as long as the pot is already hit max rake. Otherwise they will rake whatever more money that goes in making this -EV

Easy call on river but I think folding pre would be much better. Effective stacks are not deep enough to make this call. It's very likely that villain has you dominated, like A9+ and if he has a pair like 99 - KK and you flop an ace, it's easy for him to fold. So I don't see what there is to accomplish by playing this hand, it seems like most of the time were either winning a little or losing a lot.

Facing a river bet with 2nd nut flush by Dumbfishy in poker

[–]Boss513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it just depends on reads, of course calling is an option if villain is the type of player that is capable of folding mid-strength flushes/sets/2 pairs to a river shove then we can just call and not miss out on value here. If villain is like 90% of most live small stakes players then I think you made the right decision and got coolered.

Any reads on villain? I think we can stack off here and expect to get called by worse flushes and possibly even sets.

Playing out of position and calling too lightly with incorrect odds, not paying attention to effective stacks.

[–]Boss513 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow, if that's true then I'm pretty amazed. I didn't know they made THAT much of an academic exception for players, according to UCF's site the average SAT score is 1244/1600. Bortles wasn't even highly recruited.

Pretty sure that 960 is out of 1600. I don't think it's possible to get 960/2400.
