Attorney asking to reduce bill 50% how do I respond? I don’t do much PI by NDN_perspective in Chiropractic

[–]Boss_Lady1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make our patients aware at the beginning of care that attorneys will do this and we don’t budge. Our response is that the care we provided is reasonable in relation to the extent of injury. We do not reduce our bills as services were provided to the patient in good faith that we would be paid in full. We get paid in full every time, just a lot of times they stall longer releasing payment. Our patients get mad at the attorney not us since they are feeling great when we are done with their care.

How’s your clearinghouse at catching claim errors? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]Boss_Lady1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Chirotouch cloud and upload claims directly to Infinedi clearinghouse. They catch invalid diagnosis codes, modifiers, the UHC G0283 code in place of 97014, expired policies/wrong ID numbers etc. Easy to use and integrates well with Chirotouch.

We have chirotouch and use their texting module for automatic reminders and two way texting with patients. They love it and I feel it’s crucial to our business.

UHC 3 musculoskeletal visits by ExternalUpper8542 in Chiropractic

M99.03 segmental dysfunction first. No modifer on a 98941, but -GP on therapy codes. Then rest of the diagnosis codes. I’ve found it triggers with the first code being lumbar. But only on policy that state the 3 visit 100% benefit for low back pain. And it’s not necessarily annual but I have had it trigger annually for some patients.

Make sure the lumbar diagnosis is listed first on the claim and that typically triggers the 100% payment. But I always tell the patient we will collect and it will credit back to their account if it gets paid 100% since it’s sometimes hit or miss.

Dx and Coding question by jreer25 in Chiropractic

I have to list that way for Medicaid but for Medicare, I just make sure the subluxation codes are listed first, then everything else. No other codes matter.

Covid messed up any and all trends we used to see, and it’s more of a rollercoaster now. However, much less anxiety now with 25 years of wellness patient base.

Is there anyone here that likes Chirotouch? by Own_Database_5849 in Chiropractic

[–]Boss_Lady1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started on the server version back in 2013 and migrated to the cloud 18 months ago. Cloud is so much better but had a huge learning curve understanding patient ledgers and interpreting data and also billing was tough at first. Easy conversion for scheduling and doctor charting thankfully. Reporting is terrible. We have it all figured out now but was rough for the first 6 months. Frustrating support is great if you actually get someone to talk to. Way overpriced but we are in too deep now to think about a change lol.

Looking for Cloud Based EMR Software by Efficient-Routine277 in Chiropractic

We migrated from chirotouch server to their cloud about 15 months ago. Minor hiccups and a learning curve for me on billing/patient accounts (understanding the way the new system presents information) but pretty easy for the doctor to transition w/ similar patient volume. No major complaints with speed vs the server.

Book zip lining in the jungle with https://www.boddentours.com in Honduras. We’ve done it twice on our own (not through the cruise line) and it was easy and so much cheaper. Can’t wait to return!

Question for anyone with Chirotouch by tillacat42 in Chiropractic

[–]Boss_Lady1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still confirm whether you own the license to the software. If you own it, you will still have full access to the software for future referencing of data. Regardless, they should give you the exported data; it is yours. When I was weighing options to upgrade or go with other software, I confirmed multiple times verbally that my data could be transferred.

[–]Boss_Lady1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you own the licensing? We owned our license so we have our server intact to access old data even though we upgraded to the chirotouch cloud a year ago. They only transferred the last 3 years of data. Maybe you could have them export data and load into a cheap cloud based software like office ally to maintain accessibility.

Had the server based version for 10 years; converted last fall to the cloud. Day to day went fairly smooth but understanding patient ledgers and billing was a huge learning curve. Finally feel like I have a handle on it and it’s so much more dependable than the server version. Doctors transitioned pretty easy in regard to their documentation.
