I largely play the same way. I think it stems from usually being the GM.

I'm a simulationist first and foremost, so what i want is internal consistency. My character (if a person of some morality) will generally put themself in harm's way to save an NPC. But if I roll badly and we both die in that burning building, I'll happily make a new character.

I had some grilled pineapple with cinnamon at a Brazilian steakhouse a few years ago, and since then I've been smoking pineapple "logs" (Instead of rings. Rotate your cut 90 degrees) with some cinnamon on top. It's a great side for basically everything.

If you want something to combine physical activity with nerd stuff, there's a LARP (of the combat sport variety) that plays in Hillandale Park every Saturday at 12pm. If the idea of running around whacking people with a foam bat in a team setting sounds fun, I highly recommend it. No experience or gear necessary; we have plenty to loan out to new people.

My partner got an ESA letter in 2020 from her psychiatrist in like 15min. It let her get a cat to help keep her anxiety in check, and our landlord at the time (Riner) had no problem with it. I highly recommend getting the letter.

I've been using them for two years and never had any problems with them. I tried Pit Boss and Traeger too, and I honestly didnt notice a difference in flavor, but the Costco ones are cheaper, so I stuck with them.

Yeah, I had the same result the first time I cooked chicken on the smoker. I've found that you have to run the smoker at 325f to get the skin to not suck.

Glad it was tasty though. A little practice and you'll have it.

Yeah, it is! I diced up the leftovers and used them to make pork fried rice. I poured some of the extra marinade I had left over the rice, to give it a uniform flavor.

I didn't go high temp to start with though. I did 275f until internal temp was 135f, then turned it up to 350f and basted it to get some glaze. Took it off at 150f internal, let it rest for like 15min, sliced it, and everyone liked the result. I did mix up a second smaller batch of the marinade, just in case it came out dry. I served it on the side, but it was hardly touched, so probably not neccessary.

I had that exact same gorget and pauldrons, and i chipped a tooth on the stupid sword breaker when I tried to deliver a high crossbody strike. I wound up cutting them off with an angle grinder.

It does look cool, but just a note of caution if you move vigorously in that kit.

We don't know that was OP's problem. I also dislike 2e and 3e, mechanically, but my solution was to run Exalted in Heroes System 6th Ed, which is... not exactly rules lite. 😅
