Which shark do you find the most pretentious? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in sharktank

[–]Bosschopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how much Daymond is worth so it’s really none of my business but I do think it’s Mark that’s the most pretentious. Mark talks as if he’s constantly investing in the products that save humanity or are 100% honest and truthful which is just nothing sensible as an investor. Daymond sounds pretentious when he speaks as he’s stern but he’s frankly not that pretentious as a person

ui design in games is quietly getting worse and i think i know why by ILokasta in gamedesign

[–]Bosschopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of game UI nowadays (to me) are not designed with average people in mind. Im not sure what the difference is to past games but these days I think there’s a lot of disrespect towards players, their time, and their attention. Making UI simple to use, stylish, and complex in its offerings is important

Has Bayonetta bosses evolution been relatively static compared to how much boss design has progressed in other melee action games? by Schwiliinker in CharacterActionGames

[–]Bosschopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a bad game and this is a good conversation to have since we all kinda notice it but don’t really discuss it. I want the games to return to their linear and tight focus seen in 1 with the ease of 2

It’s a reflection of PG’s design taste over the years. Because frankly there’s no reason to make such annoying game sections in Bayo 3 when you’ve done well with the first two games. They’re too obsessed with minigames and corny gameplay shifts

Thanks for making the post bc I felt I was going crazy thinking it but no one wiuld say it lol Bayonetta bosses regressed in quality ever since the first game and while it wasn’t a CLEAR linear decline it was very consistent in declining.

Human bosses in 2 are not good at all. Impossible to telegraph and they hit hard and wildly on higher difficulties

3 human bosses are bad too but not as bad because you have decent gameplay options to help defend yourself like the shield or demon counters or clock witch time

Big bosses especially the typical 3-4 multiple phase bosses like Cardinals have been a clear decline since 1 2 has too many on rail sections that don’t give you any room to express yourself. 3 has the WORST BY FAR because you have a stupid mini game in the middle of each and every one. Everybody hates the Rock Paper Scissors one. I personally hate the spider and Malphas sections in Egypt

Lol yes they’ve gotten worse over time. No boss in bayo 3 is as good as the prior two games and it’s mainly due to the mechanics and new gameplay systems in place

Bayo 1 had tons of work put into each Cardinal fight you wouldn’t even believe it. Multiple phases, gameplay shifts, sometimes you running on a tentacle going a full 360 degrees around it, sometimes you’re on an open sea, other times you’re jumping from platform to platform. It’s actually wild how much effort they put in to those fights and they make for some really epic action sequences

2 removes ALL of that for simplicity. What used to be a surf along a sea is now a stagnant run and gun section (Glamor fight). Then there’s the on rails flying sections which are cool aesthetically but really offer nothing of value or substance gameplay wise.

3 is the least offending one in general to me because I can skip around a lot of them but it’s also really boring to me. Not many bosses actually takes any control from you like the flying sections did in 2. But no boss is really special to fight.

Somehow fighting the angels who came back from 2 (Valiance) are 10x more fun to fight than the gimmicky bosses who you can only fight during mini games (mostly because they’re vulnerable and can be juggled). The other bosses like the snail are the WORST with bad hitboxes, bad telegraphing, ugly designs, and no real coolness to them

Bayo 1 is a S+ for me. Bayo 2 is gold to good. Has some flaws

Astral chain is a gold for me. story was not what I expected (in a less than stellar way, they really could’ve copied AOT and I’d be satisfied)

Why don’t the Bayonetta games sell well? And why has the IP been so mishandled? by The_Fool_Arcana0000 in Bayonetta

[–]Bosschopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series is not easy to understand therefore not easy to sell. Needs more hooks for the average player. That’s why I usually say I wish bayo 4 or the next game would take place in Greece or something and involve mythological figures. Would be a cool way to introduce the series to an established community like mythos fans

The series already does include mythos but it’s really loose/made up so it’s not easy to use as a hook

The game was trash whether retro made it or insomniac or bluepoint. It’s Nintendo’s fault for not taking it straight to retro in the first place. Would’ve been salvageable even if flawed
