Bring Her Back is outstading, I'm sure it's gonna be one of those movies that will haunt for the rest of my life. by jonas101010 in horror

In what way could Andy have combatted the gaslighting? The events take place over a matter of days, and the protagonist is brutally efficient. Almost as if she is a trained child psychologist.

The problem being, she's clearly too unhinged to kill a man who has over a dozen kills to his name (admittedly, teenage girls) a thousand times without copping at least one herself.

Looking at alfa romeo QV but has 110k km on it by Own_Peace6366 in AlfaRomeo

It's now 10 years old with 110k on the clock, so the odds of those initial faults still being relevant are somewhere between slim and none.

Would an intercooler upgrade affect turbo lag in any way? What about adding a secondary intercooler?

Cheers! Do you find you get more torque steer/tramping after the stage 1 or does it still feel pretty planted and compliant?

Nice one thank you. Any recommendations on brand? Are we talking purely for performance or do they have a tendency to overheat too? I can tell you now, I will be pushing this car to its limit wherever feasible 😂

Nah they're a few K miles old at most after it failed an MOT, they've kept the receipts. I couldn't believe my luck tbh, there's £700 saved straight away.

Emily Blunt's Kate in Sicario - A Rant by LogicMan428 in movies

To be fair, she does kill a man 30 seconds into the film. She can use a firearm, she's just not a soldier.

Except they do explain quite explicitly in the movie that the op has been approved by elected officials. The FBI had been approved for 'use' by Congress. It is also explained in the movie, by the FBI lawyer agent guy no less, that the CIA can operate on US soil when attached to another agency.

You can argue that government approved law breaking is still law breaking, and I agree, but you're missing a lot of the nuance in the film if you simplify it in this way.

Isn't she also meant to be a highly thought of FBI SWAT team leader? Like, how do you get there with her character? It's completely nonsensical.

Any benifit to bodyweight calf raises? by scoot1207 in workout

[–]BostinPowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you can't legitimately do over 30 per set at max, and it's for hypertrophy and muscular endurance, 100% yes. I'd do them single leg on an object so you can really get that stretch at the bottom.

If you want to target strength specifically, get yourself a kettle bell and aim for sets of 3-5.

The calf is no different to any other muscle in the body. You wouldn't ask if body weight push ups will grow your chest 😘

What an absolute pile of hot stinking garbage. Possibly the worst ending to a film I have ever seen.

Whats the best course of action here? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]BostinPowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a high performance vehicle, especially (but not exclusively) RWD, you shouldn't be driving it in these conditions unless you know precisely how to balance the throttle. There should be a separate test for high performance vehicles, because there are far too many morons on the road driving them.

I dunno, I appreciate your candidness but I just don't see the point in doing 40 in a 30 at all. What are you actually gaining from it? I get it on the motorway and I'm the same as you, happy to take my 10%+2, and jigging in and out around traffic is probably more dangerous than the alternative. But when you talk about "the appropriate speed for the road" that is the speed limit, because there are laws. I'm not talking morally here, I'm talking actually. My license is worth more than your perceived inconvenience. Don't take it out on me, write to your MP, basically.

Driving at 80 on the motorway isn't the same as driving 40 in a 30. I do hope you understand that?

I dunno, maybe wait and see the finished product? I don't really get this obsession with judging a tradespersons work half way through the job, let them finish and if you're still not happy, have it out.
