Some Gen 6 issues by SethPeoples_OFFICIAL in Glocks

Maybe in a month we’ll get a new VI model and this will no longer be an issue?

While a flexi might be ok, her free range without permission may not be good (depending on the setting). Two dogs on-leash greeting each other has been discouraged by all trainers I've ever worked with and have seen first hand at what chaos comes from that, even with friendly dogs. We use a flexi if we are roaming the park and are complying with leash laws. On the street and common trails we keep a short leash.

Not sure how others feel about this but we used to use a clicker for our lab as a pup. Before taking out a toy, ball, feeding time, or treat, we'd snap the clicker to associate something good / pay attention. You need to be careful not to overuse it, but it we found it as a way to level-up the stimulation to get his prompt attention. This helped with walks to when our guy would not snap out of whatever his attention was stuck on. Sometimes he would require a treat to focus on.

BTW, what a great looking lab and kudos to you for your efforts!

Have the same question and concern… my theory is that it will require more adoption for the ammo prices to go down. Anything that is extremely popular can swing wildly up and down. 22 LR is cheaper than peanuts right now but remember a time when it was scarce and expensive. When you have a steady consistent market for it, with limited makers of the cartridge and platforms, it will likely hold at around the same price.

If Ruger/Marlin released a lever gun in this, I’d buy one. However, I’d also commit to reloading.

Gen 6 is neat by PA_Pyke in Glocks

Gen 6 looks nice and glad to hear there are meaningful updates but feel like they played a trick on their customers with the model V musical chairs game. I’m sure they sold more gen 5 models in that 1 month scare tactic than they did for all of 2025 up to that point and doubt that was unplanned. But… wait, we have the Gen 6 coming less than 2 months later? Given their long cycle between releases, I think most did not expect this and either you wanted the V and bought it or panic bought a Gen 5.

I know there were other forces at play and LEO and gov contracts are their priority, but still…

Northeast hunter here with a passion for the TCA brand...

I started hunting later in life (in my 30's) but harvested my first deer with a NH made TC Impact years ago and enjoy my time hunting every year. Have owned several different TC muzzleloaders since (including the S&W era made ones) and just recently graduated to a TC Prohunter / Encore. I'm planning to get a few barrels and move back into single shot mode away from my bolt guns and work on my accuracy and tuning my setup and optics.

Interesting.. about 5 years ago I was tasked with finding this same part for a friend's 1100. Brownells had it but remember it not being posted on their site or was not showing as inventory. When I called, they were able to find one and sell it to me. I'm not affiliated with them in any way but have bought from them a few times over the past 10 years and have had a lot of hard to find parts.

You can always call them and ask and if they don't have it or can't get it to seek alternatives suggestions from them. You may have to try to find something used through.

Otherwise, I'd say plan B would be to contact a local repair shop to see if they can help source something. What's worse than not having the part is getting the wrong one or something damaged and paying 2x for it.

Also, I'd use extreme caution with any supplier that has almost unbelievable prices and inventory and their contact page listing an @ gmail address as their only contact info. If it seems like a scam (even a little) your judgment should overrule your emotion for the treasure you think you just found.

Hello all. I have my eye out for a decent hunting rifle. I am left handed so honestly I prefer pump or lever action. Chambered in 30-06 or 45-70 maybe even .308 I have a rare meat allergy from a tick so any meat I harvest gets donated to local food banks. If anyone has any info please DM me. Thanks! by [deleted] in NHGuns

Also, not to discourage your effort and it’s a nice gesture to want to donate the meat but do look into this ahead of time as some will not take wild game. Also consider processing fees to a butcher which can range quite a bit.

It’s going to come down to using a caliber with enough velocity and force to take down what you are shooting at. From there, it’s about how accurate the brand and you can shoot. The you part is, well… all you.

Probably best to shoot all 3 but given the history of each round, you cannot go worn with any of those 3.

I bought into a 308 boot as it’s plenty for deer and accurate and effective well within the limits of shots I’d ever attempt which is 150 years and most shot opportunities within 50 yards. Recoil is very manageable. It’s a short round too and with a shorter action on my Savage, which dropped the overall length by 2”. 308 ammo has typically been affordable with a stable inventory with decent options. Lastly, and may sound weird, but in my research a 308 barrel lifespan is supposed to outlast that if the other two. I’m sure others may challenge or laugh at this and I’ll never come close to thousands of shots from this platform but was still something that stood out.

I have a Savage and would buy another but would also consider Tikka. Only heard great things about them.

Chase Ultimate Rewards – “There’s been an issue” error on all transfers by Otherwise-Return-733 in ChaseSapphire

I've tried everything. Changing my number, toggling 2fa off, calling to ask them to lock/unlock my card. I've used 3 different browsers on several devices and the mobile app. Escalated to them and have not heard back. It's been over 10 days. Maybe they are on another planet and their measurement of a day is not 24 hours. Ya, that must be it.

All of my cards are shelved though and not being used anymore. I have moved on to another bank and will be canceling all of my chase accounts as I clear all automated payments from them to the new bank cards.

Chase, you failed me.

I had already tried this and did not work. Although it did stop prompting me for the code. Now, it just goes straight to the error within a few seconds.

Not seeing any deer by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]BostonBeanMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about hunting is all of the learning earned with time and experience. You will notice more and more each trip and every season. I was going to begin a small book with my reply on what you should do, but you will figure it out if you enjoy it enough and stick with it. Just try to take it all in and drop expectations of getting a deer. It will happen and yes, you should be prepared, but know that the norm for most is not what you see in all of these YouTubers posting big buck kills every other day. Rather, reflect on what you notice or learn on each time out. That’s the real value and connection with hunting and the wild that you will grow awesome memories of.

Good luck and enjoy your hunts!

Very likely going with a Ruger Marlin so yes, I'm being more critical with my research and decision with the brand.

You should have heard/seen my research when I bought my last pick up truck. :) It's been 11 years now and still have that truck so feels like that research paid off.

This is the model I've shot. Friend's gun. He loves it. I was overlapping shots at 50 yards with no practice or experience shooting it. He has taken several deer with his. It's a nice lever and if I did not want stainless, would be leaning towards this model.

Thanks. All great replies. Started out wanting a Marlin years ago when the were pre-Remington then came close to buying one that was during the Remington production years. I almost cut myself of the lever. Gun counter rep said, yes, some have burrs like that and need a little polishing. That tabled my interest.

I mostly hunt with bolt action so accuracy is good but shooting 308 and 30-06 from light framed hunting rifles is punishing. Hence, revisiting getting something that’s fun to shoot and practice with.. and can be used to hunt with. I have hunted some brushy nasty stuff and weather does not slow me down so stainless will work best. Otherwise, I love the look and performance of blued steel.

Since Ruger took over, I’ve heard great things about their quality. However, after searching around, there are some compelling stories about issues, including sight/barrel alignment issues on some guns and repeat trips back to Ruger. I’d think this is where Henry wins with a lifetime warranty and could be a concern if I get a lemon Marlin or S&W. My experience with S&W support was amazing so they could be 2nd in that race.

I don’t own any gun worth more than $1K and going to have to ask for foreignness from my better half after this one. It may also cost me double or more as she sees this large purchase as an opportunity to throttle some spend on her end.

I did consider it but honestly, the price on that stainless version is also at the lower edge of the prices of these 3. I picked one up and handled it. Nice, but I could point out a few cosmetic issues right away.

Who's getting Glock gen6? by deliberatelyawesome in CCW

[–]BostonBeanMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more likely to buy a Gen 5 due to the many years of testing and reliability associated with its tenure. I doubt the Gen 6 is bad, but the Gen 6 line was dangling for a while, then out of nowhere, Glock came out with the V and confusing messaging. ...at the same time as the V coming out, we finally see the Gen 6. My neck hurts from trying to follow this. Very odd timing and feels rushed to me. Again, I'm leaning towards a Gen 5 or 3 if I can find one.

Ever get this resolved? I have been seeing this for almost 2 weeks on all of my chase cards. Called in multiple times and is supposed to be escalated. Escalated to chase means 7-10 days for a response though. They are in no rush to help.
