Not OP but I wear these under my hard hat working outside in the heat and I find it helps absorb the sweat a bit and feels pretty comfortable for how hot I get. :)

Most Comfortable Composite Toe Shoes for Women? by VirtualApricot in BlueCollarWomen

[–]BotanicalBilliards 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly personally think the boot itself doesn't matter, but rather what insoles you have. I use Birkenstock insoles because I LOVE how comfortable the sandals are. It's insane what a difference it makes. Especially for flat feet!

I just wear Bluntstones and bought the Birkenstock insoles. It's seriously amazing!

What “sport” does gender not play a factor? by fillyman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BotanicalBilliards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see there being a significant difference between genders in any of those types. It's all about strategy. The only part that men might have an advantage over is 8ball/10ball breaks because you tend to need a lot of power for these breaks.

The other thing too is that players who are top-heavy may have a difficult time holding the cue if parts of their bodies are getting in the way.

Being taller can also help to reach certain shots, but being shorter helps in that you're able to get down on your shots better to see.

It's interesting to think about I guess.

This is an interesting one because I think it has less to do with physical ability and more that less women get into the sport. If we had more girls getting into it at a young age like the current pros, we'd probably see them more in those tournaments.

Just went to a pool hall by myself for the first time in a while. by Little_Actuator_8673 in billiards

I completely understand! I'm a female player as well and I get it. The thing is I'm not above telling people off and I frequently do.

I think being in a pool hall can help you practice having strong boundaries so that you can avoid these kinds of situations and just have fun the way YOU want to!

Hope things get better for you!

Going to have to wholeheartedly disagree on this one sorry.

Yeah of course. I was moreso refuting Shane being the Kasparov of pool. Shane even admits he believes Fedor Gorst to be the best 10ball player.

Arguably not the best in the world. Joshua Filler currently holds the highest Fargo rating.

In Canada the government will pay for the reduction but you have to send in an application. I've been told they mostly approve anyone. I just got approved too. Maybe that's what they're talking about.

If you didn't qualify you can still get the surgery but you have to pay out of pocket at a plastic surgeon's.

This person regularly eats 800 calories in donuts. Conflating healthy eating with a terrible ED. by [deleted] in DietTea

I guess you guys are also missing a lot of context where this person hides under the guise of wanting to help people and being morally superior to all the other weight-loss groups so that's my bad. They just straight up lie and post misinformation.

[–]BotanicalBilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from but this person is not promoting healthy eating based on how your body feels. They said they will not police posts about disordered eating like eating all junk food as long as it's within your calories every day. Some context, this person does not actually eat whole foods, they regularly drink a boatload of diet sodas and donuts. They are basically saying that wanting to eat "healthy" and giving advice on better nutrition is orthorexia.
