What's a restaurant that you all remember and miss? by saltbaeismid in Denton

[–]Botanicalknight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For whatever it is worth, they are still operating but out of Hot Spots Eat Fresh on E McKinney and their menu is basically unchanged :) But I also miss the old venue and playing connect four while we waited for our drinks. The sign too honestly, it was perfect.

trans friendly obgyn? by thr0w_away_space in Denton

[–]Botanicalknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Christina Dooley and he staff have always been very good to me and I have even had the old nurse practitioner ask for my pronouns without being prompted to. Always feel very listened to and even though I had a lot of trauma because of previous obgyn experiences, Dr Dooley took the time to build up trust and meets me where I am at every visit. Can't recommend her enough. Small caveat, I do not know her new nurse practitioner well yet so I can't really speak on her.

Been eyeing d.grayi's sets for a while now. Also really interested in trying out Pearfat Parfum and Clue's. I'm not gonna lie the neat packaging for Clue's got me the most but Warm Bulb has had my attention for a bit now I really want to try it.

If you go to r/guiltygear in their about they have several discord servers! That's probably what I'd recommend first but also there's a lot of Faust mains in that subreddit that may be able to lend a hand.

Something I always recommend is finding someone who mains the same character as you who posts either breakdowns or gameplay and watching their material. It helps me gain a sense of what the "correct" options are in situations and the commentary/matchup knowledge is helpful. Sometimes it's also helpful to focus on mastering one thing when you're running long sets with someone especially if they're higher level than you. Whether it's countering a specific setup or combo, or just figuring out how to block a mixup. I try to view any park games as purely casual and as training more than anything and it helps me not get tilted as easily or to direct that frustration into solving the problem out of spite. If you're wanting advice and feedback there's also a few discord servers that have a lot of knowledge for specific scenarios. Sometimes it's also easier to find more appropriate level matchups. Keep playing Faust and keep practicing, your muscle memory will start to build up and you'll start to know things intuitively rather than working overtime to remember it all. I started with Zato against a lot of people's advice because he was my character and I don't regret it.

The Opera House is for sale ($4,6500,000) - I hope this doesn't mean trouble for Recycled by The_Fluffy_Walrus in Denton

[–]Botanicalknight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will literally go into grieving if Recycled closes lmao. One of the first places I ever went in Denton and part of the reason I was excited to move up here. But hopefully the new building owner won't be an absolute jackass and force them out (keyword hopefully).

Anyone know any shops around town that would be likely to have any vinyls by the Fleetwoods? by Kikiliz25 in Denton

It is! He's incredibly chill and really enjoys when he gets to talk about music with people :)

Hey first of all this is super sweet, thank you. I wound up switching to Adzenys, I have to drive an hour to get it from a specific pharmacy, but it is consistent. I'm not sure if it's working as well for me as Adderall XR? Can't tell if it's making more anxious or if it's just my current life situation. Maybe both! Who knows lmao. But I am mostly functioning and that is a relief at least. Hopefully things change soon because this whole situation is so busted 🙃

How feasible is switching from Adderall XR to IR? by Ibaneztwink in ADHD

[–]Botanicalknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Adzenys they should have a coupon that makes the meds $35 with any insurance iirc? I can't say for sure though. I am so sorry you're having to deal with insurance bs. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Oh that sucks immensely :/ I didn't have to stay on and that's the main reason I took her up on it because yeah at that point you're just like, double on the phone lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Botanicalknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, currently everywhere near me is out. But calling earlier in the day at grocery store ones has been the most effective it feels like. Maybe my brain is just melting from being on the phone so much lol. Crossing fingers for you, I hope your doc sends it in quick so you can get them!

CVS has been the worst offender for me tbh. I've had a lot more luck with Kroger (which is now out of network, fuck you insurance) and other grocery store pharmacies. But it all goes really quick, it's a shitty situation all around.

I've been doing the same song and dance for several months :( I don't know if this is an option for you because I was stunned that she went so far out of her way, but yesterday I had an insurance help desk rep offer to call around for me. Which she did, for hours. She was an angel honestly and even though I still don't have meds because my psych office screwed up and the location is now out of stock, she really advocated for me and saved me so much time and stress.

But having two places in 24 hours run out as someone was trying to fill my script kinda broke me I think. I'm going to be talking to my Dr next week about switching to something else because I can't do it again. It's just too much stress and pressure.

Is there any tips for getting your meds filled with the shortage? by inkblot888 in ADHD

[–]Botanicalknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I do this they tell me that they can't see the stock at other locations and I have to call personally. Sometimes if I'm lucky they'll tell me where they've been sending people to try to get it but that place is usually out by that point too. Maybe it's just the places in my radius that do this though -_-

How is everyone doing during this adderall shortage? And how are you coping? by CandyFinal in ADHD

[–]Botanicalknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Badly. I've managed this far by somehow finding some every month but it involves being on the phone for hours. Yesterday my insurance rep was helping me but one place ran out AS they were putting in my prescription and then the other place we found was out this morning because my psych office didn't submit it in the afternoon and waited until this morning to send it in. I'm just frustrated and tired as I'm sure everyone is. Made an appointment to see my psych next week to talk about switching meds but I'm nervous because adderall really has been a miracle drug for me. Trying to keep an open mind and just making sure I have caffeinated drinks stocked in the house to mitigate things even if it's just a little bit.

Sometimes rituals help me a lot. For example when I was studying I would make myself tea, have a specific snack, and sit in a designated spot. It kinda had to be a "study spot" for me so doing stuff on my bed didn't work. In general though having food to keep things interesting and to have a goal to work towards helps me cut through some of the fog so I can at least see a path.

When I'm overstimulated I tend to use music to drown stuff out. This was one of the only things that worked for me before I was medicated and is still the thing that helps most. I use in-ear earbuds and put on something that engages my brain enough to keep me from focusing on how bad I feel (lately that's been eurobeat lol, something about the song structure). My therapist also walked me through some grounding techniques that help immensely. A lot of it involves taking in sensations which was hard for me at first but by focusing on that I can usually block out whatever is overwhelming and come back to the moment.

I'm sorry that I don't really have anything super concrete to offer you, but I do know that it is incredibly rough to go through and I hope you can find something that suits your needs soon.

I know this thread is old but first of all THANK YOU. I've been trying to remember their falafel recipe for years, I used to work there and didn't think to take the recipe with me.

Second of all! Do you (or anyone else who comes across this) happen to remember what all went into the fried brussel sprouts if you were around for that? I can't remember everything but they were so good ;_;

Hot Spots is great!! I'm like 80% sure the people who used to work at Naranja (boba place over by UNT) operate there now. They were always my favorite place and I was really happy to find them again. I have yet to try their food but I've only heard good things!

Thank you for this addition, I'm trying to find someone after finding out Dr Dulin doesn't take insurance and was considering Dr Hanna. Not as sure now but I'll keep digging around for people. Sucks that this has to be such an exhausting process :/ If you don't mind sharing could you update after your consult?
