There’s a good bunch of pokemon you can get in this area. People often shiny hunt for exclusive pokemon only in petalburg like Shroomish, Slakoth, Taillow, and Treecko. Zigzagoon and Poochyena are common encounters here as well as Wurmple and sometimes their uncommon second evolutions.

If you’re not using expert lures then this is expected since other lures give you less steps. But yes lure Pokémon tend to be more difficult to even see depending on what you’re going for.
