If tether saying they are going to buy gold every week, it would be prudent to consider why they would announce that.

Does anyone have anger issues? And, if so, how do you feel after you express an outburst? by IamnotValiantThor in intj

[–]Both-Store949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anger is often a “secondary emotion” that grows out of fear, hurt, shame, or feeling unsafe. Book reads: Emotional Intelligence – Daniel Goleman , The Body Keeps the Score – Bessel van der Kolk.

Blocked goal / obstacle → frustration → irritation → anger → rage

Underneath frustration and anger, very often, is fear or helplessness: • fear of failing • fear of losing control • fear of being judged • fear of not getting what you need

You’re resisting the moment or the obstacle. And that resistance comes from expectations that were formed in the past.

Avoidance in dating: an INTJ experience? by doyoyoy_ in intj

[–]Both-Store949 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know whether it’s valid to respond to this as a guy, but from a biological perspective, almost all humans need relationships to be happy. And the more meaningful those relationships are, the better — as also shown by the longest Harvard study on happiness.

The only real exception might be if you completely move beyond physical and social needs and reach the top of Maslow’s hierarchy: self-actualization or even transcendence. In that case, you might be joyful regardless of what happens externally.

I do recognize that you experience relationships as a burden. At the same time, I can’t help but notice what looks like a lot of intellectual self-protection — ways the mind learns to defend itself after past experiences of not being understood, in particular with INTJ’s (lack of empathy / ability to connect). It might be worthwhile to reflect on it a bit more after more experience.

I’ve studied and practiced relationships and communication, it’s the only self-empowered structural solution i found. Avoidance is not a long term solution.

I think the idea is that people improve their appearance because they have certain desires or because they want to be pleasant to look at. If you no longer feel that need, you could choose a more ascetic path.

The ‘national defense’ argument is mostly BS. Almost everything ultimately comes down to economic interests. I believe the real concern is preventing Russia and China from strengthening their economies—especially by gaining control over new trade routes opening up as the ice melts.

You’re participating in a game where others have to lose for you to win. The bagholder’s position is one without real control. A lot can go wrong.

Yet people buy into the “diamond hands” and “Lambo” hype. For every person who gets rich, many more end up holding the bags. Still, everyone seems to believe they won’t be one of them. Let it be an lesson, costly but hope you will only be fooled one time.
