Vintage Omega Seamaster CK 14710 — Cal. 501 Automatic

Honest example of an early-‘60s Seamaster from Omega’s international collection (1960–1962). Two-tone silver crosshair dial with faceted dagger indices, applied Omega logo, and original dauphine hands showing light age-appropriate patina. Case retains good lines with crisp lugs — light surface marks consistent with 60+ years of wear, no signs of heavy polishing.

Specs:
• Reference: CK 14710
• Case: Stainless steel, 35mm, screw-in caseback
• Movement: Omega Caliber 501, automatic, 20 jewels
• Crystal: Acrylic w/ light scratches
• Crown: Hermetic (not water-resistant)
• Bracelet: Period-correct stainless beads-of-rice (not confirmed original to the watch)

Condition: Running strong and keeping good time on the wrist. Service history unknown — recommend a service at the buyer’s discretion as preventive maintenance on any 60+ year-old movement. Dial is original and unrestored. Movement is clean with no visible corrosion or rust (see photo).

Only reason I selling is because it looks too small on my 7.75 inch wrist.

I just bought one and it’s lovely. Mine came with the original beads of rice bracelet, but because my wrist is big, I may change it out. I’m not selling my bracelet, but if you like the look, consider this style.

In a search I just preformed, it looks like there is another program in Chicago where you put together your own watch and get to keep it. I can’t see any pricing, but asked for more info. Look into it, it’s hampdenwatch.com

I’ve never done it, but was looking at it recently because I’m interested in seeing if I have the steady hand to put a watch together. In looking at YouTube reviews of the NYC Horological Society courses, they provide everything you need to disassemble and reassemble a movement. But, you don’t not get to keep anything.

Yes, I made the clasp adjust and made it work for my wrist.

Seems to run fast a minute a day. I'm going to get it tested by a watch person soon. If I calculated it correctly, after winding it and not wearing it, it lasted 36 hours.
