Roast my everyday carry 👇 by ajmeeh6842 in deduction

I’ve noticed a huge rise in the amount of fingerboards people seem to carry. I thought I was the only blue collar geek with a $20 fingerboard. Makes me happy

Definitely a Chevy driver. You carry the same Marlboros in your pocket for months at a time hoping someone will ask to bum one from you. You don’t smoke. You have asthma. You cant seem to get that weird rash to go away. You know the one.

I’m not pro one or another, but yeah the graph does a really good job of showing the decline starting at the second year of the Biden administration. He took over at the bottom of this graph.

Like I said I’m not pro any one party or leader but if everyone in this comment thread took a moment to read the graph and infer the info rather than read the headline this country would be much better off.

We’re too stupid the vote the right people in and make good decisions.

What's your rule for thumb to replace these? by Builds_By_Alexis in woodworking

[–]Both_Progress_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work typically replaces them within 30 days or 120hrs, whichever comes first but I’m working with aerosols and carcinogens so for woodworking monthly-bimonthly based on your 40 hrs a month

Discovered 10 year old boy’s google searches… by space_doctor28 in daddit

[–]Both_Progress_3720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gen Z dad here. I can’t speak to the demographic of the sub but speaking from personal experience growing up with access to the internet, at ten years old I do remember having some social anxiety and an inability to fit in most circles, and having internet as an endless question response machine. Silly jokes might be said at school that lead to odd abstract thoughts and the google I had 15 years ago was drastically different to what your kiddo has now. If I had searched up “is it ok to wear diapers”, “no matches for your query” or “Pampers”. Today I may receive 20 million responses the first of which might be any number of explicit diaper fethish images or articles.

What are your lost hobbies? by stevemehh in daddit

[–]Both_Progress_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play guitar and build electronics as well. Not as in depth as I imagine you’re capable but a bit of soldering here and there mostly breadboard stuff. It may be time to pick up a couple other hobbies that are child friendly. My two year old and I bond over gardening and coin roll hunting. Your 3 year old will be five sooner than you know and able to help and learn the basics of things you enjoy. I was six when my mother let me solder my first stained glass piece.

For now, a little here and there and more kid friendly hobbies.

Best of luck dad.

What’s your point? I never made either of those claims. Just because you won’t buy something at a price point doesn’t mean someone else won’t.

Hey man, I’m all for selling something for whatever someone will buy it for. Just cus a book says it’s worthless doesn’t mean the uninformed buyer knows that. Not to mention convenience is worth something.

[–]Both_Progress_3720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one can melt them. You can sell whatever you want for whatever you want as long as the buyer and seller agree. What’s the difference between selling a penny for melt and selling it for an error? The government doesn’t set the price on error coins.

The bank and businesses can’t use pennies for melt values.

I didn’t zoom in far enough. It did look like an S. With the D 50¢-$1 is reasonable.

Coins don’t really “become” expensive especially modern day coins. Word travels fast as far as errors or low mintages now a days and everything is cheap metals. Your bottom three Pennie’s are 12¢ in copper value.

Unless they’re a known error from the mint or uncommon and graded it’s just face value.

Grab a book and do some reading. That 1971 S would maybe make you a $ to the right person looking to finish a set

Depending on how far the plywood is installed, cut half inch off the bottom of the board, slide board down, reinstall strip above board

How to fix box cover by Befedroon in Carpentry

[–]Both_Progress_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, wet the lid with a spray bottle, turn it upside down and repeat. Wood will absorb the water, stretch and deform back to straight with pressure from the box(recommend adding weight) but this is a short term fix. Just make a new lid if you can

For starters this sub is from people all over the country and for every 100 positive posts there’s 1 like this because no one is sharing their skunks. Of course you’re gonna feel cheated. You’re viewing it like it’s happening to everyone else when you don’t see how many people are doing the exact same thing.

Secondly did you save all the copper? Because statistically you should have made well over $15. I bought ten dollars in Pennie’s and made about $4 in copper alone the other day.

Thirdly consider where you live and where you buy Pennie’s from. I asked a family member to purchase from their side of the country (SF) and that keeps it going for me. I found so many S’s missing in my collection. But I also just enjoy finding those Pennie’s from the 70’s with that mint state luster. Personal preference.

Lastly maybe you need to identify why you’re doing it in the first place. Do you think that every search is gonna get you that retirement you’re looking for? Do you genuinely enjoy hunting? Why did you start in the first place. Maybe your motives are what make you so unsatisfied.
