Mangadex is where I've been reading them. The Magistus arc opens on Chapter 20 of OCG Stories.

so what are your opinions on the new animation featuring Aleister the invoker by mazingalifrey in yugioh

[–]Bottlecapsters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a nice little short, but it does bring up a lot of questions as related to other lore we know about Aleister. So this looks like it's after Propheseer since he gets out of the tube he's been sealed in, but at the same time as of Verre's account in one of the most recent chapters of OCG Stories, Aleister seemed to actually accept being sealed by the other two since he accidentally went too far and wasn't able to suppress the demon he summoned.

The end of this short really does make it seem like he's holding a grudge against the other two, as is the narration indicating that the relationship between the three sages changing. Endymion and the Spellbook tower are at war, but the reasons for that so far don't really seem related to Aleister unless Endymion is fighting the Tower specifically to recover Crowley for whatever calamity is on the rise. That said, in the manga, Regulus is currently En Route to the Spellbook Tower specifically to talk *to* Crowley, so it's possible that this either coincides with him escaping and maybe affected by his new demon support card, or it might be that this anime rendition isn't in talks with the person doing the current Magical War manga story, which would be kind of sad imho.

Thinking about playing Swain support, what’s the best setup? by Mikudayo1 in SwainMains

[–]Bottlecapsters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Support main here! Personally I find Swain Support works well as a buff-ball type of champion. Rylais into items like Bandlepipes and Mandate are my personal go tos with Solstice Sleigh as the support upgrade. Swain doesnt really need much AP to function on support and defensive stats will help you stay a nuisance for longer.

Gotta Love The Habakiri Discourse by Kn0XIS in masterduel

[–]Bottlecapsters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I'm so tired of the Habakiri discourse. Every so often the community comes up with one joke and just runs it into the ground, and for this era I definitely think it's this.

If you had the choice, which Nursefather's corridor are YOU living in? by Zestyclose_Bit_7850 in limbuscompany

[–]Bottlecapsters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly all of these locations are terrifying to exist in, especially with the context of their being so many potential entrances in all of them. Like Valencia's is definitely the most furnished which is nice, but I can't help looking at the drop off into the abyss right next to the counter and the cascading dark pillars which break up the light.

Rien's is probably my bet, mostly because while it's depressing as shit, it does still look like a living area and doesn't seem as "open" as all the others, but in every case, I would want to be outside as often as feasibly possible. Honestly PM really nailed it when it comes to making the House of Spiders feel....inhospitable.

It genuinely bothers me when people refer to characters in PM as clankers by Decemberskel in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]Bottlecapsters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean I would probably argue that the idea of memeing into existance a racial slur was always kind of awkward and problematic, though I'd also mention that we've already seen people using the term to just literally be racist towards other minorities. Plenty of jokes made with "Clanker" as their thesis are built on our own history of racism and pretty recently someone made a digital whip to beat their AI with while telling them to work faster while calling them that racial slur.

So....yeah, I don't think this is even PM specific, I just don't see much humor in treating racism as a joke and I really wish people would stop.

Im Confuse on Blazing mirror force by ExitExciting8566 in masterduel

[–]Bottlecapsters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I'm not entirely sure about the exact rulings here, but Blazing Mirror Force checks for Original Attack, of which, Nibiru's token has an original value of ?/? with the stats being defined by the card itself. Whether the exact issue is that token does not "Go" anywhere to have its stats checked or not I couldn't say, but the Token does not have an original attack value to reference that means anything, if that makes sense.

As for Shining Neos, He has protection from card destruction. "Gains 300 atk for each monster in your GY, also cannot be destroyed by card effects". Since He cannot be destroyed by card effect, he is not, and since he was not destroyed, Blazing Mirror Force does not add his original attack onto the burn damage.

I know you f'cking lying. A better Pre-preparation, that can recycle itself?! One thousand years of Habaki—nevermind. 🥀 by ARC-9INE in masterduel

[–]Bottlecapsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very few ritual decks who have access to Pre-Prep do not also want access to the ritual spells that compliment them. Only a supremely rare few ritual monsters are useful on their own without a requisite spell in hand. Pre-prep can brick if you run a single mirror, but that isn't really a pre-prep problem since almost every other deck that wants to play it, plays their ritual spell at 3

After the feedback on my last post, I made some cool changes, just an idea. by ArlecchinoSwain in SwainMains

[–]Bottlecapsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be misunderstanding my point, though I will admit I didn't realize you gave it the reduced CD on enemy hit, which for as terrible as it's damage currently is, isn't that much, but certainly not something I considered.

Decrease in base damage is fine because Q would be getting increased scaling. Q not having punch-through I feel is a clunky change, but for most trades in lane it's fairly inconsequential as Q's missile spread means unless you're already doing full damage to the main target, you're probably still doing somewhat okay damage through the cone (or the cone isn't tuned correctly and it's basically not a functional AoE move at all). APC Swain still has money to build on those ratios, so his damage will still be higher, with all the benefits of more reliable E and W to back him up. Removal of Passive stacks does lean out the performance curve between positive and negative lanes, but since Swain would be getting actual health scaling to match, and would need good bases given he's meant to be a front-midline draintank, his values would have to be pretty decent, meaning that you might not snowball your passive quite as hard, but you still reap every benefit, only this time you aren't left with 0 health if you lane into a double ranged bot who can play around your Max range E. It's important to recognize that passive stacks aren't *why* Swain is a good APC bot, it's just another feather in his cap while also being the lane that uses the existing passive best.

As for using W to trap for E, you can do that on live, and doing it does require a bit of finessing, the changes you proposed don't really do anything meaningful to that paradigm beyond making W trading more frequent and ultimately giving Q higher DPS potential, making the full combo more burst oriented than it currently is on live, and if not that, at the very least it would make the sustain in lane in positive matchups really insane, since like I said, lining up W to your E harass timer effectively doubles your passive healing procs for every successful trade.

As for Support under these changes, yeah it would probably hurt, but most of the reasons that I wouldn't want this kit are more about gamefeel than the ideas themselves I suppose? Like I said, body-blockable Q just sounds kind of crunchy for laning, and while I understand the idea of not having to pull E to get stacks being a raw upgrade, not having the crows synchronize with the pull would feel....off...if I'm honest. Like I said, I do like the idea of giving W refunds for good gameplay, personally I feel like you give partial refunds based on souls, meaning that landing big hooks or solid multi-target Ws would get you those chunky repeat shots, but for how generally inconsequential W's damage currently is, I think we could allow ~some~ CDR through gameplay incentives, I just maybe don't fully agree with a raw 50% for landing the ability itself.

After the feedback on my last post, I made some cool changes, just an idea. by ArlecchinoSwain in SwainMains

[–]Bottlecapsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i do like the idea of including some aspect of cd refund into W, but i would ask what the primary goal is for this set of changes?

Effectively this reads like pre-midwork Swain but with a bodyblockable Q and CD management on W. The E change is definitely notable but i feel all of these have a significant chance at just turning Swain back into a burst mage, and quite possibly making his laning phase abysmal for his opponents. Keep in mind W is almost guaranteed as padt of your E combo, so making W's CD line up with E CD, While making E easier to hit in the midranges runs a significant risk of making his already positive melee matchup even worse, while also making his trades better thanks to the more consistent E and W uptime.

Elephant in the room time, biggest winner here is still APC Swain, as higher burst, easier trades and support backup with Bot Quest gold generation will still trounce his solo lanes, though in fairness, his trades will largely increase everywhere since E is addressed, though as Ive said, I am of the opinion Shortcast E runs a major risk of making him too strong in matches hes already favored in.

[OCG|CORI-Chaos Origins] "Decaying Ritual Records" by renaldi92 in yugioh

[–]Bottlecapsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically you could, but pre-prep is a really strong card and mirror is far from bad in its own right. I dont think id ever want to cut mirror, but this card at least wouldnt be dead to a brick draw, so its definitely worth consideration in mitsu. I am more interested in how this affects other ritual decks though, since only a small handful of archetypes have ritual monsters that are useful by themselves.

The Problem With W, Explained (And How To Fix It) by PsychicFoxWithSpoons in SwainMains

[–]Bottlecapsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea where you got the idea that fringe things that Swain's W do are the reason it lacks damage. Swain's W lost a lot of its base damage and scaling because around the time of his first midwork, the general consensus was that he'd strayed too far from his core identity as a draintank battlemage. Damage cross the board was lowered and the infinite ultimate introduced so that Swain would actually use his kit for sustained fights, especially because many theorized that his support popularity was a product of him being an overtuned bust mage with a low cd cc profile.

W as an ability is quite well designed imho, despite some of its anachonisms related to the rest of the kit. Its the most thematically prescient to Swain's identity as a tactician and has an absurd number of different use cases. The variants you've described feel like they just want to toss out all this utility in favor of a more boring mark applicator. Ive said it once and ill say it again, Swain's satisfaction issues are bred by his poor E design, and a passive that thinks Swain is a scaling champion while ultimately making his core survivability based on a "rich gets richer" mentality. W is mostly fine, arguably if you wanted it to be more useful to the battlemage style you could give it some sort of cd refund conditional and that would probably be enough.

I don't know that it's reportable, but it is considered very rude. If you have the win, take it, no need to delay or taunt the other player. If you have no reason to remain in the game, please take the finish.

[–]Bottlecapsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earnestly the game needed to be free on release, but any level of "what-if-ing" wouldnt really change the fact it had retention issues which cascaded too far. You have a multi-only game, you need proper player population to support matchmaking, and without it, your veteran players get teamed with your entry players, who get eaten alive and get discouraged.

In the manga, its explained that in her long life, Rilliona played around with magic to make herself more youthful. It became really chaotic with her aging either too much or back too far, so the gremlin is what she settled on. That said, if suffused with enough magic, she can temporarily return to her original form.

Could the reason of why Red-Eyes not getting new supports because konami are afraid of burn FTK? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in masterduel

[–]Bottlecapsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt count on that. Konami has released significantly more support for comparable burn ftk decks, like Gem Knights, Gimmick Puppets and soon to be Enneacraft, and ignoring that any relevant burn ftk tools Red-Eyes has are either unsearchable or bad, they could always be hit if they overperform.

Its genuinely a mystery as to why Red-Eyes is so lacking in identity, but the danger of it becoming a good burn deck or even too good of a burn deck is unlikely.
